@benignvs
ryder bellamy & albus potter.
The night was delightfully October. Ryder thought it was too cold to be warm and too warm to be cold, just the way he liked it. It was the first tuesday of the month and, as tradition predicted, there he was, standing outside the door with more bags than he could carry. For lack of an empty hand, Ryder contemplated touching the bell button with his tongue, but decided to knock on the door with his elbow. It really was kind of a pathetic sight. “Come on, guys. Make this quick. I might drown in our food before we eat it.” It was better safe than sorry: he knew how demanding his audience could be where food was involved. “Also, I think I need to drain the dragon.” @benignvs @albcspvtter
“Albus!! Please tell me you’re taking a long time because you’re trying to find the perfect wine and not plotting something devious against Ryder!!” Jane jumped to put on her shoes, her other arm in an awkward attempt to brush her hair, having dozed off on her documents minutes before she heard Ryder’s knock on the door didn’t provide much time for her to look like a proper human being. “Ry, I’m coming, aw, Helga, I’m just going to ditch the shoes,” Jane only registered the last thing he said when she got to the entry way, standing before it not moving to open the door in front of her to let Ryder in. “Did you just say drain the dragon?? That’s by far one of the most VULGAR things I’ve heard you say in ages, Ryder Bellamy and you could’ve picked a better choice of words. I’m waiting until Albus is here before I open the door, “ she teased, though she really was determined not to let him in.

”You’re my person. I need you a l i v e. You make me brave.”

you take care of everyone, my love, but who is taking care of you?

“I’m broken.”/ “You’re driving me crazy!”/ ( Jane to Ryder ) What do you like most about your character/ What do you dislike most about your character? ( Ryder )
jane; “I’m broken.”
He found her there, panting on the corner. She didn’t speak and, when she saw him, that was the only thing she could manage to push out in between her sobs.
I’m broken. I’m broken. I’m broken.
He could hear her gentle voice in complete despair from across the room: somehow, she made them sound like angels whispering.
The attacks were becoming more and more frequent, and the idea of someone hurting Jane was enough to make Ryder sick —
but he didn’t know what happened.
He ran to her, putting all thoughts behind him: he didn’t need to think, he just needed her to be alright. Ryder knelt to the ground, holding Jane however he could.
He tried to understand.
He asked about Frankie and Gus and everyone else, but she had no will to speak. Something terible had happened and he felt powerless. Powerless, because his Jane was devastated and there was nothing he could do.
He knew she would eventually cry herself to sleep, so he just stood there, holding her in his arms until her sobs became whispers and her stormy thoughts became dreams. And there he would stay until she woke up the next morning.
He just hoped those dreams would be better than reality.
jane: “You’re driving me crazy!”
— That’s the whole point, isn’t it?
Ryder pulled Jane by the arm, away from the suspicious eyes of the other prefects: it was fun when she found him, not so much when the others did. He made no effort on being silent, his choice of approach that night was ‘run like hell’.
Ryder dragged Jane to the nearest broom cupboard, waiting for the others to walk right past them. It was almost completely dark, but the light of his wand was enough to define silhouettes. He didn’t need to see her: Ryder felt Jane. She was right there, her chest on his, both panting from the run. He didn’t need to see her to know she was there, but he could see her eyes. Her eyes — he loved them.
She looked at him, her judgey cat blue eyes, but he could see there was something else behind them: something different than the reproval he was so familiar with.
— What? Don’t look at me like that! You know you love our little escapades…
Ryder raised an eyebrow and, in the dim light he wasn’t sure, but he thought he saw Jane smile.
what do you like most about your character? (ryder)
What I like most about Ryder is probably that he’s very compassionate. I could say it’s his bravery or how smooth he is, but I really do think how much he cares for anyone who touches his life and how he is always trying to protect the people he loves are really the top 2 reasons I fell in love with him.
what do you dislike most about your character? (ryder)
His need to protect people mostly always leads him to stupid decisions or poor conceived plans, like borderline hero complex. He is impulsive and reckless, but his need to act now makes him who he is and that’s life.
Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.
