Long ago, the worlds of Humans and Monsters were separate-
"Gah! You- Muddy Brat! What do you need from me?"
"I mean, if you're asking, I do need help moving this wheelbarrow..."
"Figured, that's why I asked instead, whatcha'doin'."
"Why aren't you leaving?"
"Hah! I doubt a Brat like you can read!"
"Now be a good little Speck, and leave!"
-separate. Though this account won't tell much of the time before the Earth Descended, it is important to note that life before was alight and glorious in stark contrast to the Monsters' life in dingy darkness.
Then, of course, the most horrible incident occurred, now known as Earth's Dissension-
"Wow, these are really big words!"
"Why are you still here!"
"Then what's this word!?"
"And what does dissention mean?"
"What, no, you're probably thinking descension."
"Dissension means to disagree to the point of fighting."
"What does that have to do with living in a pit?"
"Will you leave me alone!"
"Don't you have a hole to dig?"
"How about you just ignore me."
"Then how about you shut your pie hole!"
-Earth's Dissension. Thru this conflict, Monsters were exposed to the wonder of true light, and rejected it. Thus, the Flood cleansed them and brought Humans to claim this new World the Monsters abandoned.
Of course, the Monsters disagreed, but the first Humans, with their massive wooden Artifacts, put down their nightly raids. And thus, the Humans blessed by light, and the Monsters cursed to darkness, were left to a never ending conflict.-
"Why is the book so small anyways?"
"Because it's a work of art!"
-But then the Flood stopped bringing Humans, and great wisdoms were lost. It is believed that this was due to the Monsters who lurked in our shadows, Monsters who wore our faces.
To this day, Flood continues, but unlike the Monsters, we have not been cleansed. We can take this mean that we are still the true possessors of Noregresa, and one day, the Monster menace will come to an end.
"No answer to why they used the word Dissension."
"It's probably in another book about human life before the Flood."
"If it's anything like this book, I doubt it'll be any good."
"Have you ever met a monster?"
"No, but I'm not dumb enough to believe the author's biases if that's what you're getting at."
"Authors write what they think are true in history books, not what is true. In other words, this author is biased against monsters."
"Wait, why am I even bothering with you..."
"Because I'm smarter than I look?"
"Can I have my alone time now?"
