Tape looping with a Yamaha YC-25D
Creating a 4-track cassette tape loop and playing along on the Yamaha YC-25D organ.
Four separate parts are recorded to the tape loop:
Track 1: Fmaj7 chord
Track 2: Cmaj7 chord
Track 3: High E drone
Track 4: Bright melodic accents
As the loop plays continuously, the four tracks are mixed in real time using the mixer section on the Fostex X-28H tape recorder while additional organ parts are performed live.
Both the organ signal and the tape loop output are routed into a 1010music Nanobox Lemondrop, where they are used as a live input granular oscillator source. The resulting signal is then sent through an Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man analog delay and a Chase Bliss Audio & Meris CXM 1978 reverb.
