Brought in some homebrew for testing today and found out my latest dopplebock is a lil higher n ABV than I had calculated 😳 9.6% on the Anton Paar vs 8.3% using hydrometer/refractometer. Gonna have to recalibrate my home lab but not exactly bad news that my beer is stronger than I thought 😜 #itllgetyoudrunk #craftbeer #homebrew #beer #beernerd #beerporn

Ran out of homebrew the day before st pattys 😱 so I had to get to brewing. Did a double batch of lagers parti-gyle style. Darker ones a dopplebock and the other is a smaller lager I hop bursted with some hop powder and whole cone hops. Boom! 🍻🍺 #homebrew #lager #brewday #beer #beernerd #beerporn #craftbeer

Gonna toot my own horn 🎺 here for a sec. I brewed this beer on Nov 21, 2013. I won a homebrew competition with it actually and then cellared some. It moved with us from FL to NC so I didn't have very high expectations when I decided to pop a bottle today but dayum! It aged like a champ! Slight oxidation and a more pronounced raisin character in it but that's to b expected with an old geezer 👴🏻of a beer like this. I labeled it saison but it's really a Belgian dark strong ale. Better seam check yo self before u wreck yo self! Here's the down and dirty way to measure the seams on your cans. Not easy or pretty but it works. This is how we make sure our seams r good on the 3 head canning machine at school. There is an easier way... (at Blue Ridge Community College)
