Here's a link across to my most recent statement about how I find myself working at the moment:
http://benleefineart.tumblr.com/about
'To feel those times, not emptiness but silence, not calm but immobile' - May 2013, mixed media - two counterbalanced forms, cast using high alumina content cement and polished to reflect their surroundings. The two forms are suspended from the floor using one continuous 3mm steel cable, run through 4 sets of three-fold purchase block and tackle pulleys.
'Beachhead' - January 2013, mixed media - 25 identically cast hydrated cement columns, interrupted with visible steel reinforcement bar, arranged equidistantly from one another
'Grain of Glass' - December 2012, mixed media
shown at Co.Lab5 - becoming Union Problematique at Summit Gallery, Hackney, London, December 2012
Concrete cast against toughened glass
'Distrust' - December 2012, mixed media - 3 concrete casts, using subtly different mix ratios, locked together with steel reinforcement bar, situated on 3 identical mirrors
'Compulsion' - November 2012, mixed media - cast concrete balanced on centre of gravity, with inset mirrored cube
'Collapse in Support' - October 2012, mixed media - self-supporting wire twist embedded in hydrated cement
Fully realised finished work, autopoiesocal structure forming in communication with the Barbican Centre, exhibited at Kings Cross Central St Martins, in a free-standing ligthbox
