During a design class, students set up their works for critique, collaborating with each other to create a beautiful exhibit. A great example of how VA classes work in Bennington.

🧯⚒️🧑🏼‍🏭Aluminum Pour Day; leather, noise and sweat

Aluminum Pour was a project done by the students in the intro Sculpture class “Examining Space” taught by John Umphlett. This event happened on the North side of VAPA building during the parents/alumni weekend where people were able to watch the excitement and the beauty of the molten aluminum filling the students prepared sand molds.

The audience was also able to take part in this event by scratching their own images on a prepared open face molds that were handed out by the students of this class.

We also casted dehydrated apples from the last living tree that Robert Frost planted on the Frost House Museum property.

What a wonderful community event!

Hello, I have a bit of a weird question. Say I wanted to spend the weekend (so a day or two) away from the school- like spending a night or two in town or somewhere close by. Would I be able to do that?

Hi there,

Yeah, you can definitely do that! It's pretty common for Bennington students to take trips during the weekends. You don't need to tell anyone in administration that you'll be off campus, but of course it's always best to let a friend know where you are!
