01.01.2026 — Hello! I’ve finally sort of planned a schedule for my next Korean classes. Yonsei or Sogang online would have been the ideal, but the times just don’t work for me. So! I’ve found several online classes that I have already registered for or plan to soon. By the way, I literally set an alarm for the free KCCLA class scheduled for January, as it apparently unlocks at 10:00 AM 2 weeks before the first class, which would be today, but it for some reason isn’t open yet. Either way, this is my hypothetical schedule:

• Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30 PM, Korean 14 (Confirmed, starts Jan. 6)

• Thursdays, 7:00-9:00 PM, Intermediate B @ KCCLA (waiting until the class unlocks to register, starts Jan. 15)

• Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 PM, Practical Korean 2B or 3B @ King Sejong Institute (registration starts Jan. 19, classes start Feb. 2)

*For the last two, it is possible I won’t get a spot, so I am trying to sign up right when the classes unlock! Korean 14 will probably only have the same 3-4 students that were in my Korean 13 class, aka a whole lot of pressure to participate lol.

Nothing is stopping you from writing fanfiction for college assignments

I have a class where I have to write creative assignments all the time, and let's be honest, I don't always have the motivation to write something super original.

My solution? Write fanfiction and change names and specific details. And you know what? Most college teachers won't even know.

I definitely just wrote a shortened version of a MHA Vigilante!Izuku Dadzawa fanfic and changed names and ages and genders.

I've done it before, and you know what? I got full credit. She didn't even notice.

In conclusion, work smarter not harder. This way, you still practice your writing skills, you practice plot conventions, and you don't have to world build. Plus, if your teacher does notice, you can be like:

So, yeah. Write fanfiction, do crime.

How were ur first two days of class?

Honestly the teachers and people in my classes are super nice but I feel awful. It’s genuinely so difficult being a college senior at 19 and being first generation student because everyone in my classes already has so much more experience and knowledge about stuff that I don’t have. Almost all of my classes have grad students in them but also there’s a bunch of senior undergrads in my major who all know each other and I literally know none of them. It’s also so hard because I need to do fieldwork for my major (Archaeology) before I can graduate but my university hasn’t any field schools and it’s too expensive for me to sign up for ones that are out of state. Like my university’s program for my major is mostly decent but it’s also kinda shitty in some ways and it’s so stressful for me to even think about how I’m supposed to graduate, let alone how I’m supposed to apply for grad school and stuff. It’s also awkward because a majority of the people in my classes are like 23 and older so I’m one of the youngest people in my class? And like some of the students I sat next to were nice and tried to make small talk about the class and stuff but it’s so obvious that they know more stuff than I do and it was just awkward and frustrating. I also get super stressed when I think about the fact that I’m going to graduate and have to apply to grad school before I’m legally allowed to drink 💀. Like wtf. And my brothers are no help because they’re only a year older than me and I’m technically graduating before them? Idk I’m sure it will get better throughout the semester and stuff but right now it’s just kind of shitty. Also it’s two of my professors’ first times teaching at my university and so they kind of screwed up our textbook access and stuff and idk whether or not I’m supposed to have read anything for my classes tomorrow or not so that’s a little stressful. Idk it’s just really hitting me that I’m young and broke and have no experience. Sorry this was just a big ass rant. At least my dad bought me a smoothie, so that’s nice ❤️ and I got to hang out with of my friends in between my classes.
