Bakutodo Valentine’s Gift

A/N: Dear @benoter, Happy Valentine’s Day! For the @bakutodo-exchange, I tried to go for the ‘oblivious date’ prompt but it ended up a little different. I hope you still like it!

Bakugo pulled at the bottom of his embroidered vest, picking at a stray thread while he waited. I-Island had plenty of flashy, flamboyant restaurants with lots of tables-for-two and shared drinks with sappy names but he’d found one that seemed at least a little respectable. And tucked away from the main thoroughfare, in a corner no one else would think to look or visit. After the disaster of a first day when their entire fucking class had come out of the woodworks over the course of two minutes, he wasn’t taking any chances.

Still, maybe this had been a bad idea. It wasn’t like he had anything to wear, he’d had to settle for the same flowered waistcoat he’d borrowed from Kirishima on the night of the villain attack. The singe marks along the bottom from the fights, where he and Todoroki had stood back to back, were still visible despite his efforts to clean it. But at least his shirt still had sleeves this time.
