being involved in a messy friendgroup situation is so funny when you're not the messy one, what do you mean [redacted] was talking shit about me on saturday night while I was...marathoning shark movies and saying 'man, aren't sharks cool?' and sending reels of sharks to the group chat.

like I didn't go out because it was raining and I wanted to spend all day sewing fish bags for my knitting projects how did I get dragged into this?? how do you hate on the girl sending you shark reels??

I know there are Activities tonight I’m not going to because of being no longer on speaking terms with certain people and also it’s Wednesday and I’m having the BEST night so let’s see what gets said about me while I’m not there tonight 😂

(I rode my bike down to the beach and knitting and listened to a better audiobook than the one I’ve been listening to, and now I’m about to take a bath and eat cookies and finish a book ideal night tbh)

also is it a hot take that I get kinda sus when there's a female character in the books that's bitchy and one-dimensional and seems just to exist for the main character to hate? Like even if the author is a woman and the main character is a woman, if there's a punching bag female character I just get suspicious like I kinda think you hate women...

I guess it's probably more about not being a good writer because that also sucks if it's a male character that's just cartoonishly boorish, but it has a little extra kick if it's a woman. like come on all your characters should have interior lives or you suck at this

aside from being potentially misogynistic, this book I'm listening to is so derivative I think it might technically count as plagiarism

I love how since May I've been like 'it's #seahagsummer!' but only kind of casually watching a movie or two and now that I have a month and change left* I'm like...but what if I locked in and read/watched/listened to nothing else and also cast on like four more thematically related craft projects

*I'm aware I'm adult and sea hag summer could continue indefinitely but there are other hyper-specific subgenres I want to get to (time travel is up next! I think next summer is going to be disasters and apocalypses! suggestions for other hyper-specific subgenres welcome) and the release of the film adaptation of Whalefall mid-October seems like a good stopping point.

Anyway, I'm off to pick up some fabric with crabs on it and then I'm going to double-feature The Meg and The Meg 2: The Trench and no one can stop me

I would literally rather watch old sci-fi tv shows using the same Vancouver forest set and spray painted nokia cell phones and puppets than anything that generative AI touched and that's why I'm glad I've been done with the MCU for years now
