at least can all we agree that the original gay flag with the magic and sex colours is BEAUTIFUL and it should make a comeback
what’s more iconic than this
What about the final version of the flag by the original creator?
Gilbert Baker added a 9th stripe shortly before his death, with the new stripe representing diversity. He added this stripe in reaction to the 2016 US election. It’s unfortunately not as well known as the 8 and 6 striped versions.
Here’s an image of him sewing together the 9 striped rainbow flag.
Happy pride month everyone
I love how quickly Hero goes from the formal "Master Lathalia" this and "Master Lathalia" that to "Please, Uncle Bolaire" when she really wants to stay and watch the dangerous magical process. 🤣
(And it worked!)
No but like before I watched Project Hail Mary I’d occasionally see fanart and it made me wonder when the dude with long black hair was going to show up and why were people shipping him with Grace but he didn’t show up and I was very confused and yesterday it finally dawned on me it was Markiplier all along you fucks!?
Oh King Gus
A man who never wanted to be king but got saddled with it because he was too damn good at his job,
A man who was rejected by his father, lost the man who raised him, lost his uncles, lost his lover, and yet has never lost his hope or his kindness,
A man who gets called a tyrant for trying to do right by his people, and yet still loves and fights for all of his people including the ones who oppose him,
A man whose first and only thought after nearly dying and then witnessing what looked like an actual divine miracle was, “I need to tend to my fallen knight,”
What a man you are
i kind of feel our current trajectory is like.
i do love
azune: you're very wise, occtis occtis, halfway through his last word: nope! thimble: you're so wise, occtis occtis, again halfway through the last word: i'm super not azune: why was that rejected so fast?
character sheet fades to occtis's and its wis 10 stat
you know you're good at your job when every single person tells you "thank god you're back"
Boss makes a dollar You make a dime You read unsanitary pirate slash On company time
Look if you read fanfic on the clock and everyone is still relieved that you're back you must just be that got-dang good at your job
Fam, some jobs are like being a firefighter. 90% of the time you're not doing anything that important, but by golly, when they need you, they need you.
Some jobs, you can fuck around for six hours a day, but you know what you're doing so well that the work you do in two hours would take somebody else ten.
Some jobs, you spend those two hours preventing other people from making mistakes that would take 100 hours to fix if you weren't there to steer them right.
So don't buy into the idea that if you're not working 480 minutes a day, you're not doing enough to get paid a day's wages. That's the capitalism talking.
You're a better employee when you keep your morale up, and sometimes you do that by reading fanfiction on the clock in between putting out your little fires.
My grandad worked nights for the railroad, and he liked to say that he got paid for what knew, not what he did. There would be nights without a single train, but someone had to be there to make sure that any train that came by was on time and on the right track. It could be so slow the guys set up a projector and watched x-rated films on the clock. OP, I think your okay.
Yeah I guess.
I may read fic in the clock but I'm the one who knows where the files are.
this in: middle-aged mans first known encounter with flirtatious remark (confused)
aabria narrating “I sit and stare at these brightly colored swords and the thing that my daughter has done to them. they had their task. they killed azgra, they freed our people, and now they are props for a story that we will tell so that our people will always know the story of what we’ve overcome. there is nothing for me to forge here.” and liam tearing up and saying “she got me.” bitch me too, the fuck 😭
Thinking about how Thjazi not breaking the glyph was a snap decision. He didn't plan his own execution in advance as part of a masterstroke play, based on how he was joking with Hal he clearly expected to escape using the glyph. And then he saw that falcon, presumably Mara the Wing. Others have mentioned that he likely chose to die because what he was doing with the blood from the River Gavzidra required someone be in the Tenebral Reaches, and him seeing Mara signaled to him that her passage had been blocked, and he realized he had an express if one way ticket to exactly where his plans needed someone to be. So Thjazi chose to allow his own execution to proceed, and rushed out his last words to Hal in the scant few seconds he had. Circumstances very suddenly required him to willingly sacrifice himself for his cause, and he made that choice very decisively even as he was clearly scared to die. Thjazi was certainly a lot of things, but one of those things was that he was a man who was willing to give up everything if it meant living out his ideals.
I think this has been said to death already but goddamn Aabria is so locked in on the thematic resonance of this campaign it’s crazy, any time Brennan touches on something Thaisha is connected to, Aabria picks it up immediately and spins it into something beautiful,,, her druid magic and calling, the Circle of Ancients, the Lloy family, the Pariah Blades, the treatment of the orcs and their liberation, Thaisha’s feelings about the Shapers and the War,,, she uses it all to cut so incisively to the emotional core of these big themes
It’s such good character creation because Thaisha isn’t just connected to the history of Araman, its personal to her it’s all so personal to her,, Aabria hasn’t just written an interesting factual history, she’s seen some of the questions and conflicts at the core of this worldstate and made a character who has deeply held beliefs and strong emotions in answer to those questions and it lets her make character choices that both make sense for Thaisha as an individual and connect to the themes of the campaign at the same time and it’s so good it’s just so good Aabria Iyengar you’re very good at this we should be telling you this every day
“Hey, everybody. We're meeting downstairs in an area that is slightly more secret, but to my understanding, not the most secret.”-Hero D'vyen
Campaign 4 Episode 28: Chasing Shadows
Sylandri was the final Shaper to fall. Azgra and all his other divine defenders were already dead. If she could have resurrected any of them, being the goddess of life, she would have done so by then. Sylandri was killed while holding the elves' reproductive capability hostage.
What if the mortals had made her surrender instead? What answers could she have given them about the Barrowdells, out of love for her children? What precedents could she have changed, out of love for her children? In what ways could she have changed if given more of a chance, out of love for her children?
The answer is none, because she didn't love the elves. But she repeated and reinforced that message, "I love you, [name she knows]," to the same individuals for centuries and centuries. Those elves had centuries and centuries to internalize it in the face of any evidence to the contrary. Whosever womb they came from, Sylandri was their mother. They had no surnames to indicate parentage separate from her. They only existed because she allowed it.
Of course the person to get through to Vaelus would be a fellow elf who intimately knew Sylandri's capacity to hate the beings she shaped. The core, load-bearing falsehood behind Vaelus's ideology is that Sylandri loved her. If Sylandri loved her, whatever Vaelus learns about the Shapers' system can be reconciled with the belief that the Last Arrow was a mistake. If Sylandri hated her, everything falls apart, and the world finally makes sense.
“I lost them all”
Apparently someone got their car stuck on the light rail tracks at Mt. Baker. For those unfamiliar this is 35 feet up in the air
First test flight of a flying car by Mazda partially a success
I feel like the Arizona license plate should take some place in our analysis of whatever in the goddam fuck we’re looking at here
Much like Springfield before it, Seattle is one of the few major cities in the world with a monorail. That, combined with a more conventional light rail system, makes Seattle the rare U.S. city with two different types of train for public transportation. On Tuesday night, the rail system briefly had a third: a Mazda CX-5.
