what does one do as an archivist at a furniture museum ?!!? im kind of fascinated? also sending healing kindness warmth to you while you navigate tough brain

its a "museum" based around two specific mcm designers so i handle the cataloging, digitizing, and access to digital assets of the archival material that they created while they were alive. mainly the collection consists of photographs, correspondence, notes, books, drawings and other ephemera :)

omg i deeply relate to the feeling of having being treated as a sexless doll, i feel like people avoided talking about sex near me growing up and now that i'm having sex for the first time as a 30-year-old i feel like. i'm so unsexy and weird and i literally didn't know a lot of stuff lol

wah im sorry to hear that :( ya i think a lot of my issue is like an internalized perception of myself that i look very young (dimples, short, chubby, etc) and am therefore treated like a child or i THINK im being treated like child (talked down to, not seen as someone who can make decisions or who does 'adult things' like drugs/alcohol/sex whatever) which has lessened somewhat as ive gotten older but i cant break out of the habit of just assuming people who talk to me think of me as like a baby basically . and i spend a lot of time around older woman who lowkey do mother me so im stuck in this cycle of like i try to talk to someone -> they say or do something that i perceive as childish -> i immediately start putting my guard up -> i get defensive -> they are annoyed by me -> i hold a grudge forever .

like as an example ... i find high fives to be like one of the most condescending actions ever I DONT KNOW WHY. but if someone who is not my close friend tries to high five me i immediately get pissed off and insecure as fuuuck that they see me as like a little kid you know good job champ! vibes -_- anyway sorry to pile my insecurities on to you anon ... <3

embarrassing myself as usual .... or maybe im not the problem the problem is the fact that everyone views me as a child ... or maybe im the problem because thats what i assume since im so often condescended to and treated like some kind of sexless doll and ive never recovered from that
