âI didnât mean, like, datinâ,â He ignored the slight sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach at the mention that Harry didnât have any time for dating. Itâs not like they would ever date anyway, âI meant just, yaâknow, to get into someoneâs pants or sommat.â
âAright, that makes sense. But French just sounds⊠flirty. Like you could say anything but it would still sound nice, at least I think so.â  He gave a quick, one shouldered shrug.
âWill you take me?â He hadnât meant to ask so abruptly or sound so eager, âI mean go with me and my mum and Daisy. You can show us the stuff you like and speak for us yeah?â He hoped he had played it off as casual.
âIf you love cookinâ so much why did you invite me over before? You know I wouldâve come, even if itâs just to see you in an apron,â he paused, he hadnât thought about what he was saying, âI mean, yaâknow, a gentleman spy doing domestic things like cookinâ is kinda amusinâ.â He decided to try and change the subject off of him wanting to see Harry in an apron.Â
âWhat time do you want me over?âÂ
Harry thought he could see something in Eggsyâs expression change, almost as though he were disappointed when Harry mentioned he didnât date. What would the boy possibly have to be disappointed about? Maybe it was just that Harry wouldnât be regaling him with tales of his sexual escapades. He couldnât imagine Eggsy was actually interested beyond that.
âAs you can no doubt imagine, Iâm not exactly the type to engage in many one night stands,â he answered. âThough of course there was the occasional...dalliance when I was younger, but I donât remember French really coming into play in any of them. Maybe it should have. Even the most innocent sentence can come out sounding lascivious if itâs said right.â
To illustrate his point and well...perhaps just to flirt a little bit, he dropped his voice to a low purr, âJe pense Ă toi quand je ne devrais pas.â The words surprised him a bit once they were out of his mouth. Heâd meant to say something far more innocent, though with Eggsyâs elementary grasp of French it likely didnât matter.
His brows rose the slightest bit when Eggsy asked to go to France with him, though he found himself nodding in agreement. âThat would be nice. Itâs been a long time since Iâve had a proper holiday, and your mother could certainly use the break too, Iâm sure.â
Eggsy continued to sound eager to Harryâs ears when cooking was brought up. It was little wonder why Harry had this lingering affection toward him--Eggsy always sounded so pleased to spend any time with him, it was incredibly flattering.
âI just assumed youâd be busy with other things beyond indulging in my culinary experiments. Though I do look very dashing in my apron,â he teased, thinking he looked anything but. âHow does six sound? Thatâll give us some time to practice French before dinner.â
