I'm deep in my insomnia hours thinking about little Sam, maybe 6 years old, kneeling down at the end of his motel bed, and Dean, already under the covers with a comic book, peering around the pages and asking his little brother what he's doing.

Sam saying, "I'm praying, duh." And he closes his eyes tight and laces his little fingers together and scrunches his face up and starts Dear Godding and asking for the Big Guy to make sure Dad comes home and to keep him safe and to say hi to his mom in heaven.

Thinking about Dean getting angry and being a brat and telling Sam God's not real and to just come to bed and be quiet already and stop being a stupid baby.

But Sam just opens his big puppy dog eyes and folds his arms across his chest and tells Dean that if monsters are real, God might as well be real, too. And Pastor Jim says that praying is just a wish you really, really mean with your whole heart. And Sam really, really means it when he closes his eyes one last time and prays for all the other little kids out there who don't have a big brother like his.

Definitely thinking about Dean shutting up after that and cuddling extra close to Sam that night, kissing the top of his sleep-warm head. And about Dean squeezing his eyes shut tight and really, really meaning it with his whole heart when he prays for all the other kids out there who aren't lucky enough to have a little brother like his Sammy.

Imagine the conspiracy theories going back to Skin about the attention to detail about Dean the serial killer, or about Jess' death or Nightshifter with the FBI and the details about that. Becky didnt seem all that shocked to hear that Sam and Dean are real from Chuck, maybe its like tinhatting in that fandom believing Sam and Dean are real.

see, there's a big conspiracy theory in the fandom:

the later books don't match carver's style, they say, they sound different and they linger on the brother's hugging too much, clearly these were written by a fan after carver stopped writing. but why did carver stop writing? well, he was killed by the winchesters. don't be stupid, the winchesters aren't the same as carver's characters. what about all the matching evidence between the leaked winchester fbi file and carver's books? you shouldn't be looking at that case file, they've already said it was classified! well, they should have classified their database then, huh. it isn't dorothys_friend's fault for leaking it if their encryption was so bad. hacking into the fbi is problematic and frankly, i'm disappointed this is even an argument. mods, you need to lock this thread. what, you like reading about it but you don't want to know about the real thing? obviously edlund wouldn't fictionalize REAL LIFE MURDERERS. blocked! dean would NEVER! i heard edlund was actually sam's girlfriend, back from the dead. i hate this fandom.
