I'm  Anjona from Tezpur, Assam. I would like to share my experience with RCET, Kanyakumari

I was born and brought up in a small town in Tezpur, Assam. From there i reached Rohini college of engineering, the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district in the pursuit of a good engineering college. Rohini college of engineering, at first seem to be a normal college in my eyes, but later it turned out to be the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district. 

Infrastructure structure of our college is good and has dedicated faculty members to give good teaching. They conduct sports meet, cultural fest and art fest in every year, they also give good opportunities for extracurricular activities. Course structure is simple to study and we have labs practical and theory classes so we can easily study our syllabus with help of our teachers and we have three series tests in one semester. My course is 4 years. In 4 years, there is 8 semesters. in all semesters have 6 subjects to study and 2 labs. The faculties including lab staffs are very helpful. They give extra care to each and every student to help them excel. They conduct internship programs in several times and the placement and job opportunities are very high. The college is collaborating with several companies so we get many placement opportunities in our college.

There are several scholarships in our college. Our college also provide scholarships for students based on the higher secondary mark. Where there are some other scholarships are there like memo etc. In our college they conduct sports meet every year in college days and conduct the all finals in two days and they conduct also athletes meet in our college, in our college and have NSS unit they provide social engineering and social services and ideal unit also to improve the student’s ability. Lab are there in our college they also provide practical knowledge. Rohini college of engineering and technology, the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district, help to get jobs to the pass out students. The management also mingles us in our social relevant issues based on like needs for money. They also conduct alumni meet ups in our college. some of the senior students got placed some good jobs so they also recommend the juniors to their company to get a job. I love computers. And software field so I choose the computer science engineering. i have opted this course because this is a professional degree so I can easily get a job after my completion of my course. Faculty are good at our college. In my opinion they teach very well and they help to improve myself and they provide notes of every subject and they behave like friends so they can easily control the whole class.

After my schooling I was in search for a college that supports innovation, new technologies and idea rather than just academics and text books. My search started from Guwahati, my home toy and ended at RCET College, one of the top 10 engineering colleges in Kanyakumari district, southernmost location in India.

The college had a very jovial ambience. It was not like the usual Colleges where academics and labs were given importance. Rather they had a separate department for seminars and projects. They welcomed all the ideas from students and supported them to the limit. This was the main attraction for me. They never let down an idea saying that it is impossible. They had a motto that innovation comes from madness.

The college faculties were very polite. They used real life examples to teach us. It was not just teaching, they wanted to make us understand such that we never forget it. Every possible topic was connected to real life examples. This method was so impressive. I had seen my professor taking huge effort in preparing for each class.

The management view on innovation and technology was also worth mentioning. During the main project our managing director played a key role in discussing and helping us find new ideas. He is a man of great vision. This makes RCET grow to one of the top engineering college in Kanyakumari district.

Even during the study leave, all faculties were there in the college. We could visit them whenever needed to clear doubts. Seminar and workshops were also conducted to give us an idea about the changing technologies.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organized a technical talk on ‘Business Analytics” at the Opulent Hall for its students to empower engineers with business. The function was presided by the Board of directors, Chief Guest Mr. Anoop, Technical Lead, Network Systems. The function started with invocation song followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Students, presented welcome address. 

Principal Dr. R.Rajesh addressed the audience and appreciated the department for conducting activities under department association. He advised the students to make use of this technical talk by learning new technology beyond the curriculum. He gave some brief idea about today’s topic with examples of implementation.
