(USAmerican trying to imagine a societal environment) Okay, so picture a highway,
inability to correctly perceive 3d objects is in fact far more dangerous when someone is driving a car next to you then when they're like, sending emails to you.
can we focus on the gnome for a second
wait sorry i was not wearing my glasses. that is a cat
these are the people i have to share a highway with
Now that everyone is discussing Nolan's Odyssey movie, I feel like it's a good time to let non-Italians know that the production dumped plastic props into the Italian sea. Weirdly enough I could not find any article in English about it but it's a fucking problem nonetheless.
I might translate this article later today. This one was the most complete one, even in Italian news it's not talked about that much.
Non Ăš la prima volta che la produzione solleva un vespaio in Sicilia. A Lipari una squadra di sub sarebbe perĂČ giĂ impegnata a bonificare i
They dumped plastic skeletons in environmentally protected areas, against the literal contracts they had to sign to get the permits to film in environmentally protected areas. Like they not only did a bad ecological thing that freaked out some divers, they literally broke environmental protection laws and their contract with the Italian government
You guys need to see this because my brain has decided "have you heard of seventy dollars??" is a widely known meme I can reference regularly (it is not)
image: tweet. "NYC RESIDENT: I live in a jar dude. I live in a little freakin mason jar. But oh the culture - have you heard of Mexican food? Have you heard of seventy dollars??" end ID.

I love getting unaccompanied minors (kids flying alone) who so clearly just. Don't want to be here lol. Sometimes I get to know a little of their story, like their parents are divorced, or a family member died and they're heading to the funeral, but usually they just don't want to talk about it and that's fine. But I always treat the flight like it's a challenge to make them smile. I offer them snacks and soda but that's never enough, that's whatever, they could get those from an airport vending machine. Chump change. So then I tell the worst jokes. Just the most embarrassing, kindergarten teacher, annoying dad jokes you can think of. And those always get a groan, or a "Seriously??" And that's my in! Now I can say "Why, what's your idea of a good joke? No, come on hotshot, make your best joke, let's see it." And they hem and they haw but of course they eventually tell me their very best joke because kids are little competitive comedy goldmines. And it's always super funny, so I laugh, and that's where they slip up. Because you know what you almost always do when your joke successfully makes someone laugh? You smile. And I'm like. Gotcha. Rookie move. Now you're going to end up having a good time in spite of yourself. I win.
Did this with an 11yo u.m. today and he said "What did the ghost say to the other ghost?" And I said "What?" "Nothing. Ghosts aren't real."
I'm literally a flight attendant, offering snacks and drinks is my job

hey uh seems weird there wasnât a vote to replace him and instead one of his family members did like we live in a dictatorship or something??
Okay, see, thatâs one of the least weird things about all this. In most states, the governor is allowed to appoint people to temporarily fill elected positions should the seat become vacant due to death, resignation or other circumstances. This is emphatically temporary: the seat is only filled for either the remainder of term or until a special election can be held, which is often done within six weeks of the appointment. Iâm a SC resident and believe that Grahamâs seat isnât any different: he was already up for reelection this year anyway, and Iâm pretty sure there might be a special election held in a few weeks to fill his position if necessary. Filling the seat is largely treated as ceremonial, since under normal circumstances the appointee wouldnât be allowed to hold the seat for longer than a couple of months, but this case is getting more scrutiny because 1.) the appointee is literally Grahamâs only close relative, with the appointment being treated like a memorial to Graham instead of an impartial political seat, and 2.) Republicans have been exploiting a lot of the procedures around appointments lately in order to try and maintain their grip on the government, and some folks think that they only put Grahamâs sister up so that all of the âVote Grahamâ signs around the area wonât confuse inattentive voter who then wouldnât vote for the chosen candidate in the election proper. Itâs a whole mess, but the appointment process itself isnât actually the problem here
tch... so it's an alliance out of necessity, huh...?
OMG YES PLEASE THISSSSS đđđ
Look I don't think Supergirl (2026) is secretly a perfect masterpiece or anything (I personally thought it was like. a 6/10 fun time) but I do think it's wild that Tumblr isn't going crazy for it because this Kara is one coattailed suit away from being a Tumblr sexyman. she is the flawed messy female character people have supposedly been clamouring for. she's the popular archetype of a gruff self-destructive alcoholic middle-aged man begrudgingly having to look after a kid and growing fond of them but genderswapped and also 23. she's allowed to be visibly messy and kind of gross and her hair is constantly all over the place and she literally cries, screams, throws up, and pisses onscreen. she's caustic and mean and puts up an act of carelessness but has a heart of gold. she's heavily traumatised and coping with it terribly. if anything happens to her dog she will kill everyone in this room and then herself. she spends most of the movie in a trench coat and baggy band T-shirt. she gets into bar brawls and breaks a guy's hand. she is Going Through It 24/7 and looks the part. she stabs a guy in the throat. how is everyone else not obsessed with her.
You're right and you should say it.
i don't care if it's nazis, mormons, or a bunch of misguided autistic people. if anyone ever tries to tell you your soul is from another planet and you're actually part of the class of impressive people that secretly did everything cool in the world but is now extinct and lives on through your broken genome, you RUN. YOU WILL RUN AWAY. YOU WILL SPRINT FULL SPEED AWAY FROM THAT.
grabs you by the shoulders listen. listen to my words. i understand the urge to make fanfiction about yourself and to find a reality in which you're super awesome and great and everyone who hates you is wrong and dumb. i get it. you're better than that. you can love yourself without putting other people down, dehumanizing and generalizing, and retaliating against your oppressors.
there's no NPCs. there's no aliens coming to save us. we're not the next step in human evolution. our hyperconnected nervous systems give us terrible sensory overwhelm more often than they make us geniuses. neurotypical people are sentient, conscious, aware people who are capable of understanding you. we're more the same than we are different. we're more the same than we are different. we're more the same than we are different.
