HIJACK HC

This connects to my previous headcanon. But, this one is a bit angsty.

We all know Hiccup didn't really have friends or has a somewhat strained(?) relationship with his dad in the first movie. And, the main reason is that he was just too different. He strives to understand beyond the surface rather than see something as is. His inventions come from a place of genuine creativity with the intention to help. He doesn't find bloodshed appealing—particularly slaying dragons who have been their enemies for generations.

So, for most of his life on Berk, he's always been the odd one out, the outcast, the outlier. The screw up of the chief, if you will. Sure, he's got friends now, and he is loved, but is he seen? Heard? Known?

One of the most pervasive patterns I see when I think of HiJack is that they always see one another. It is a sort of understanding that no one else seems to have (except maybe Toothless), so it feels inheritly romantic and intimate because both are subjected to the terrifying ordeal of being seen. Can you imagine how vulnerable you have to be to put your trust on someone when you spent your whole life being excluded and ignored?

Yeah, the mere thought of that sends shivers down my own spine.

So Hiccup and Jack fumble. They are allowed to make 'mistakes' (I.e awkward talking, testing the waters, trying not seem desperate ect.) because it's their first time having someone who sees them and recoil away begrudgingly or from annoyance.

Okay, it's late and I really had to get his out of my brain because I couldn't sleep. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Idk how to explain it other than them knowing each other like the back of their hand to the point they developed an instinct telling them: "Hey, your bf is up to something you should probably check on em' right now."

Im currently killing myself over hiccups side profile rn, but me and my weird kid playlist will brainstorm for you. okay. another thing thats canon is the play wrestling, and like you said, the waist grabbing. so imagine jack and hiccup pretend fighting and jack pushing him off playfully and trying to get away, but hiccup grabs him by the waist and pulls him back. into his lap, me thinks???? yesh. anyways. can we also talk about the way hiccup might jostle jacks head while theyre joking around, before wrapping a hand over the back of his neck and tucking him under his chin. perhaps so he can rest his cheek on his hair, or better yet, nuzzle into it. can we talk about that???? because im thinking about it
