He whistles low , shaking his head and already picturing the MESS that would be . Dealing with old men was hard enough , but an old man with a daughter to protect ? OH YEAH , he might as well give up now .

❝ You really want me dead , huh ? ❞ He was teasing ! Well , sort of . He did believe it would not end with sunshine and rainbows , not much does , BESIDES sunshine and rainbows .
“You’re so dramatic.” He’s really not. Jake’s right to be worried. “Dad’s gonna be happy for me.” He’s probably going to lose it.
But being the dutiful girlfriend that she is, it’s her job to reassure her boyfriend that all's gonna be, in fact, sunshine and rainbows. Even if it’s lies.
Moira plops down on the couch beside him and takes his face in both her hands, holding it gently. She wears a soft smile. “I promise.” She really shouldn’t. “I mean what’s the worst thing that could happen? He might want to invite you over so he can properly meet you. And I can introduce you to my mom and sisters, too. They’ve been dying to see you.”
That part is true, actually. She’d been hesitant about telling her dad, but Polly and Natalia, as well as her mom, already know the gist of it. She didn’t tell them everything, but she told them she’d met someone—mostly because Polly noticed how distracted Moira would get during their videocalls, whenever she got a ping on her phone from a mystery someone that made her smile too wide at the screen. Polly called her out on it the second time it happened, and after much nagging and getting Natalia to join her, Moira surrendered and told them that, yes, she is in fact dating.
“Also, for the record,” she shifts off her spot on the couch to slide onto his lap, one leg on each side, and brings his face closer, “I don’t need a shotgun to blow your head off, babe.”
YEAH . He does not believe her for a second , but he will play along for the moment . Oh , does he want to let go of the tension he was holding and think everything was going to be as GOOD AS IT GETS , like he wishes he could have introduced her to his mother . Closing his eyes for just a second , considering it and what would be missed .
❝ Okay , okay . No more second thoughts , he is going to be happy for us . You better keep that promise . ❞
Taking a deep huff of air out , putting his hands over hers to pull off his face when it was getting a bit warm , rolling his eyes .

This was not so bad , escorted by two women , both incredibly different from each other . This one ... this one had a spirit she wore on the outside . However , average went to downhill rather quickly with just a few words , a real question . He thought it WAS a boys only group , so seeing his smile drop and eyes shift to something not playful .

There would be no turning back if he were to actually show her something , their lives would change and if it was for better or for worse , he did not know . He could get in some serious trouble , he already sort of was , wandering where he was not supposed to wander . So , why not take it a few steps further ? She wanted him to snap , and then what ? Are they were to fight it out then ? Would people start making bets ? He had a few ideas , about showing her just what the crazy genes can do to a guy .
❝ You really want to go there ? I gotta say , you got a stupid amount of courage . ❞ And Jake was just stupid .
So , he grabs her by the jacket and lowers his head down to hers . Nose touching , vision going cross until they both look funny to each other . He was building his own courage , those lips of hers he would love to do nothing more with than to shut up with his own . Breathing his breath on her .
He would not hold it against her if she slapped him afterward , but , he knew that she knew they both knew where this was going to go .
Crashing his lips into hers , he had kissed a few girls in his home country , always crazy about him . This was by no means his first kiss , but it was with her . He was not overly filthy with it , a curious tongue he drew away after a second .

“Hey, Jake…” Sherry approaches him with a timid smile. “I don’t know if you’re… well…”
Is this too forward? Part of her doesn’t care—it doesn’t have to be a date if he doesn’t want it to be one. She’s more than happy just hanging out with him as friends.
“I was just wondering if you’d like to go to the movies with me tonight?” But just so he knows what her own intentions are, she adds, “you know, considering it’s Valentine’s Day and all. I figured it would be nice.” If not the movies, and if he’d prefer something more private, they could also go to her place instead and watch a movie there. His pick, even.

Sherry had been the one to take him to his first movie theatre and he did have fun there . The big screen and rows of seats , it was really nice then being around strangers in a civilian setting with no monsters or anything of the likes . But for today , they deserved something a bit more personal , seeing what they wanted and it not be overpriced .

“It’s Valentine’s Day or whatever…” She folds her arms against her chest, eyes looking anywhere but in his direction.
Except everywhere else she looks are heart decorations and bright colors ranging from reds and pinks and whites. Balloons and roses and what have you. Sooner or later they would have had to address the elephant in the room.
“Do you wanna…” she clears her throat, scratching the back of her neck as she finally meets his eyes, “go to a rage room and break some things?”

Jake was surprised with the decorations , the balloons , streamers and ribbons , and the rose petals laying around like a confession . This was pleasant actually , it has been a lot of years since he last did anything for a day like today . And doing anything with Moira sounded great .
Though , he did have just one question .

Sherry was WAY TOO GOOD to him , it was more than just her job and maybe that had something to do with what she said before they were detained . When they were trying to stay warm in a snow storm in a borrowed cabin , that she wanted to CARE like the strangers that cared for her , that became like a family to her . That was something he could respect .
❝ After whatever happens , and the world goes back to normal and when we go our different paths ... you think we could be friends afterwards ? Everyone needs a friend and it has been a long time for the both of us , something tells me that anyways . ❞
Jake had never felt something like this before , the guys in his past platoons were different than she was . All soldiers of fortune like him that has the capability to BETRAY and HURT , but not her because that would be against EVERYTHING she worked hard her life for . Never her .

Looks like he was caught and there was no taking it back now , that reaction of hers , it made him forget for a brief moment the cards he was dealt and the fighting they often have .
Nudging her back with his arm as an understanding , maybe even friendly gesture .

Jake did not think their fighting , argumentative tendencies would EVER cease but for right now they were on this same boat . And when two HOT HEADS like them are together , it would be nothing but trouble but double the fire , and DOUBLE the middle fingers to their unfair lives that felt completely justified .

If he did not pull himself together THIS will be the end of it all , defensive and angry that they know , he knows and yet NO ONE wants to say a word about it . Then again , he did pull a gun on the only guy that ever said anything about it . As why he slowly turns to look over his shoulder to glare at Leon before scoffing , turning back .

A few wrong moves too many and suddenly he is no longer Mr. Muller but instead WESKER JR .

That was the wrong thing to say , not that either ever say anything right in the first place . It was always something that could be easily taken as genuine misunderstanding or jokes , ever since that helicopter ride in Edonia and the first of many arguments they have had it just seems they were trying to OUTBURN each other .

Jabbing his finger in her shoulder as he finally blows his lid , no one was more upset with their lives , THEIR GENES , than Jake was . Moria thinks she has a crazy family ? Jake thinks she is so lucky , so very lucky . His eyes soften for a moment , glinting before he blinks and he is hollow and angry again but not like moments prior , he is faltering .

He wanted to say TO HELL with this made up arch nemesis plot Piers had made for them both . He knows why however , his past insurgent history was what comes to Jake's mind first and foremost and was still hung up on that . That because of what good he could do for this world , the BAD he had done would be wiped away . But there were times and places for these things , Piers was a soldier through and through and there was nothing Jake hated about that . Damned if he helps and damned if he does not , he still knows there had to be more to come from down here and an injured arm was going to help no one .
Scoffing when he was pushed away , shoving his pistol away and opted for his magnum he had been saving the bullets for in times of desperate need , and he figured this was pretty desperate . The need for ammo that puts down infected quickly was needed now more than ever , covering the close range while stuck on this elevator with him .

The raise of his eyebrows , eyes lighting up . Of course Sherry had something to do with this , she was doing her best for him and he should really say something again the next time he sees her . Thinking that would be rather easy hanging around Claire long enough , and while he had only heard the good about her , BSAA GUY'S SISTER , the other half from Raccoon City , and all that . Jake felt like some sort of celebrity or model from all this talk on his behalf , and that was why he wanted , OR NEEDED to prove he was more than just his genes or his blood .
