SUPERNATURAL NEWS OF THE DAY: Toxic Brazil Fans Attack!
So get this (😉), there's this award show in Brazil called Séries Brasil. It does a variety of awards, but it mainly has to do with TV shows. Their account is @SeriesBrasil on Twitter. Now Supernatural just so happened to have multiple nominations and wins, including Misha Collins winning Best Actor for his portrayal on Castiel. That is a great accomplishment and I'm so proud of him. But then we have another award...
The award show decided to have an award called Worst Character. Considering this is a real and popular award show in Brazil (with 1M follows on Twitter), this shouldn't even be an award in the first place. Award shows are suppose to be about celebrating the good, not belittling the bad. Anyways, the results came in and they are SHOCKING:
Dean Winchester won in a SICKENING landslide. Now mind you, this is a REAL award show, not just a silly award show made up by a fan. Which means that
Jensen Ackles will be sent this award.
That is extremely messed up that these so called fans would take part in such a cruel thing. Now I'm not gonna say Dean Winchester is a perfect character who did nothing wrong. He is flawed and has made some questionable choices at times, but Dean also sacrificed his own wellbeing time and time again to save the world. He has inspired many people to keep on fighting even during the darkest of times. On top of that, Jensen Ackles just finished working on the show after 15 years. Not to mention he cares a lot about Dean and considers Dean his best friend. This is such a HUGE slap in the face for all the work Jensen put into Supernatural and it's even worse that a lot of the same people who voted for him claim to be fans of the show. If you actively HATE on Sam, Dean, Cas, or their actors, you are NOT a real fan of the show. It's one thing to disagree with certain things the characters/actors do, it's another thing to hate on them. I am so disgusted by this behavior and this award should have never been a thing in the first place.
I'm personally asking everyone who reads this to reblog this because this is such a messed up thing to do and Jensen deserves better than that, and I hope more fans can become aware of this situation.
My idea is that we should trend the hashtag #WhyILoveDean and #WhyILoveJensen and talk about why we love Dean/Jensen and how they have impacted our lives on Twitter to show that the Brazilian "fans" do NOT represent the SPN fandom.
