So I have a ton of projects and am terrible at promoting myself. But I am trying to change that! So hi! I am Adalisa Zarate, also known as Luxshine (or Lux, is ok) and I am a comic book artist, author, illustrator, panel organizer, reviewer and all around jane of all trades!

Here's all I do, in a handy weekly basis so you know when I post stuff (although, if you do follow me for Supernatural juicy bits? Those are added as they come!)

On Mondays I post a video series of reviews of Stephen King's books. I love the King, and his books and I got this idea of doing ONE video for each one of his books in chronological order while I create an illustration based on my favorite scene of the book in question. Wednesdays are baseball days! I adore baseball, I breathe baseball and thus, I have a webcomic that is all about baseball history! Follow the Traveling Seers, a team of mediums who like to play against the ghosts that populate the Afterlife league, as they talk about all the great players, stories and yes, legends of the American game. Thursdays is the day for my main Webcomic series, Building Blocks. And there he is, @luxshine. It took a while, but I did it 😁 And I hope this simple gift makes you happy !!!! . Creating the Ram Clones video wasn't an easy task. I got stuck in the creative process. I struggled with a lack of ideas, physical, financial, and mental problems… . And I couldn't fit the Ram clones into the Janatha Garage like I did with the Bheem clones. The Garage is a space that flows naturally for Anand and his brothers, but for the Rams… . And the Ram clones have a whole subplot in the story ! All the sense of déjà vu they must have felt throughout their lives… The triggers, awakening fears they can't quite pinpoint where they come from… Not to mention all the torment that "the sleeping project" must have caused each of them !

It wasn't an easy creation, but I loved the result !

But when I realized that the "perfect song" was smaller than the number of separate videos for the film, I indulged in the most "unprofessional" sound editing in music history. And I hope I didn't offend any Infected Mushroom fans with my editing.

I don't think I have anything else to say except: I hope you like it !!!!

E aí está ele @luxshine, demorou, mas eu consegui 😁 E eu espero que mais esse singelo presente a faça feliz !!!! . Construir o vídeo dos Clones do Ram não foi uma tarefa fácil. Eu travei no processo de criação. Lutei contra a falta de ideias, problemas físicos, financeiros, mentais… . E não dava para colocar os clones do Ram dentro da Janatha Garage como eu fiz com os clones do Bheem. A Garagem é um espaço que flui naturalmente para o Anand e seus irmãos, mas para os Rams… . E os clones do Ram possuem toda uma subtrama na história ! Toda a sensação de déjà vu que eles devem ter sentido ao longo da vida… Os gatilhos, despertando medos de que eles não sabem dizer de onde vem… Isso sem falar de todo o tormento que “o projeto dorminhoco” deve ter causado a cada um deles !

Não foi uma criação fácil, mas eu amei o resultado !

Mas quando eu percebi que a “música perfeita”, era menor que a quantidade de vídeos separados para o filme. Eu me entreguei a edição de som mais “não profissional” da história das músicas. E espero não ter ofendido a nenhum fã de Infected Mushroom com a minha edição.

the scene when bheem first finds ram in prison is an example of shots dreamed up by the utterly deranged if i may be quite fucking honest. bheem is just crouching there weeping the biggest fattest studio ghibliest tears ever known to man and all i can think is HOW. this bitch is crying by the gallon over here, can he cry these medically enhanced horse transplanted tears on command or did they spray him with a hose and told him to make that face. meanwhile ram is just looking at him with SO. MUCH. I know people aren't here for the news, but trans folks, I'm thinking of you tonight and how you deserve better.

Are you 🫵 pissed off about the Lilo and Stitch monstrosity remake? Do you want to know how you can actually make a difference in supporting the people and ecosystems of Hawaii?

Tourism is a big issue in Hawaii (which the remake got rid of the original's commentary on because it makes foreigners look bad). I'm not gonna promote it, BUT I know that realistically, thousands of people arrive here every single day by the airplane-ful. And the majority of them aren't educated on the socio-cultural and economic impacts of tourism. SO, I'm making this post in an effort to educate visitors. If you or someone you know is visiting or moving to Hawaii (whether by circumstances in or out of your control), here are some suggestions on how you can give back!

You can donate to the Hawaii Community Foundation, which has been instrumental in giving aid to the displaced community of Lahaina after the Maui wildfires in 2023. They also provide scholarships to students of under-represented communities.

If you're interested in visiting Kualoa Ranch, you can do their Mālama Experience where you get your hands dirty giving back to the ‘āina (land)!

There are other organizations you can join to volunteer with, too, like Kupu and Mālama Maunalua. Check them out; maybe you can help with a beach cleanup or plant native trees! These are both non-profit organizations that accept monetary donations.

Visit the Bishop Museum to learn about Hawaiian history and culture! They also have events focused on sustainability and conservation.

If you're visiting Hilo on the Big Island, go visit the Laulima Nature Center! They're a non-profit aimed at protecting Hawaii's native species, and they even have an online store that ships to the US mainland and internationally! (After I post this, I'm gonna head on over and get myself a manu o Kū pin ♡)

A few other tips I have:

DO: Respect the locals' homes. Several beaches and hiking trails have access points in residential areas. Please be mindful to keep your voices down when passing by, and park ONLY in designated parking areas.

DO: Wear reef-safe sunscreen! Sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate are banned in Hawaii because they are known to damage coral reefs.

DON'T: Approach wildlife, particularly honu (sea turtles) and 'īlio holo i ka uaua (Hawaiian monk seals). Stay at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from turtles and at least 50 feet (15 meters) away from monk seals. If you see someone harassing animals, report them to the statewide NOAA Marine Wildlife Hotline: [phone]. You can also contact the Hawaii State Department of Land and Natural Resources.

DON'T: Collect sand, rocks, or other natural items to bring home with you. This is to protect the ecosystems and also out of respect for Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians), who have cultural beliefs regarding lava rocks in particular. Taking lava rocks is extremely disrespectful.

DON'T: Litter! Please throw away your waste in proper trash cans. If you see a bin that says "ʻōpala," that's a trash can!

Many Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) are moving to the US mainland because the cost of living in Hawaii has been driven up so high (because of people moving here), they can't afford to live in their ancestral home. So, if you are going to visit or move to Hawaii, please:

- Make the effort to support local businesses, especially those owned by Native Hawaiians!

- Educate yourself and your loved ones about actual Hawaiian culture!

- Try Hawaiian food, like poi!

- Learn some Hawaiian words and don't be afraid to ask how to pronounce words correctly!

- Donate to a food bank!

- Watch films and read books written by Native Hawaiians!

My hope is that whoever sees this post will use it to educate themselves, their friends, and their families who are considering visiting.

My background is in sustainability and the environment, so that's what I know to suggest off the top of my head. If any Kānaka Maoli read this post and have suggestions to add, please do!

Actor Johnathan Joss was just murdered for being gay. On the first day of pride 2025. He was best known for playing John Redcorn on King of the Hill.

I had no idea he was gay but he was married to a man named Tristan Kern de Gonzales (on valentines day 2025!)

They lived in San Antonio Texas where his family is from and he grew up. He was 59.

In Janurary 2025 his home was burned down which made news. It killed some of his beloved dogs. He didnt elaborate beyond he believed it was arson (gofundme is still up and i suggest donating to help his funeral costs and his husband
