Every once in a while I think maybe it’s time to scale back my invasive interest in Paul McCartney’s private life. Thankfully Paul McCartney himself just said it’s okay and that in fact I should be trying harder
i hope beatles biopics show paul seeing john around town before they met and trying to look not too hard at him like the 14 yo gay boy he was
they should have a scene like this in the john movie

Paul’s lyrics for Hold Me Tight (with a doodle of John—possibly).
The Beatles Lyrics by Hunter Davies, pg. 55
He was and is obsessed. Epic. It's you, you, you Hold me tight, let me go on loving you tonight, tonight, making love to only you And a doodle of... well, if that's not John, it's certainly not poor Dot.

So here’s an unfortunate reminder of the past. I’ve cut a screen grab of it rather than reblogging, because fuck that guy he doesn’t get another reblog out of me. I’ve also cut out the original questioner because I don’t think it’s fair to unnecessarily expose them even if the post is public.
I used to get so many notifications on people liking this reblog. Then when the allegations came out (which if I remember correctly was only days later) they thankfully trickled away. I got another one just now and it reminded me when I heard Aziraphale say pedometer in the finale it frankly felt like such a gut punch. Which is a shame considering it was during in what was, in my opinion, one of the best scenes in the finale.
It’s proof that what we got truly was all NG’s work and not something that was re-written as so many had assumed. The fact that this moment was also something preserved out of everything that had been cut, a thing specifically mentioned by NG and probably one of the last snippets we got before he was cancelled and thrust from this platform, is yet again another telling sign of how much the two other writers probably upheld his story and vision.
It has been sitting uneasy on my chest for over a fortnight now. I have more to say but will do so in another post.
“Paul turned to Linda and one or two friends and told them that it reminded him of the famously trippy session for “All you need is love”. ‘It was that same vibe. I just looked around and there were all these flowers and happy faces smiling up at me.’ Another sip or two, and he began murmuring huskily, “John…. John…..”” (Christpher Sandford, McCartney)
"Yoko had also once heard a rehearsal tape with John’s voice calling out “Paul… Paul …” in a strangely subservient, pleading way." (Philip Norman, John Lennon: The Life)
Gotta Sing Gotta Dance (1973)
Part 1 - Part 2
You’re right and you should say it.
"It was only me that sat in those hotel rooms, in his house in the attic; it wasn't Yoko, it wasn't Sean, it wasn't Julian, it wasn't George, it wasn't Mimi, it wasn't Ringo, it wasn't Miles. It was me that sat in those rooms, seeing him in all his moods and all his little things, seeing him not being able to write a song, and having me help, seeing me not able to write a song and him help me."
-Paul, Many Years From Now (1997)
