Laugh
Matt tends to laugh very quietly or even silently, a habit not even he’s sure where he picked up—so if his shoulders are shaking or whatever, it’s probably best to assume laughter first before anything else. And if you manage to get him to laugh openly—loudly and without reserve—well, consider yourself accomplished.
Trend
Sometimes Matt follows fashion trends obsessively for months on end and sometimes he’ll spend the same amount of months in baggy sweaters or old t-shirts and jeans and not give a whit.
Alliance
There’s a evergreen in his yard that he likes to read in, it has some really nice, big, low-hanging branches, but which becomes the home of an excessively territorial pair of black-billed magpies during breeding season. He’s managed to reach some sort of shaky truce, though: he doesn’t go above a certain height, they stop swooping at him, and he feeds them eggs voluntarily.
Natural
Despite occasional accusations to the contrary, no styling products are used in the maintenance of his hair. ;)
Pretense
If he doesn’t like you, it’s rare for him to come right out and say that; he’ll put up a front of being the perfectly kind and polite gentleman to you, but on the inside, he’s probably imagining causing you blunt force trauma with a hockey stick.
Urge
Just because he isn’t constantly banging his head on the table or the wall during world meetings doesn’t mean the temptation isn’t there.
