Little bird,
Why do you expect happiness?
We weren’t made to be “happy”.

So survive, little bird, and {happiness} will come as a gift.

He smiled. “Only if you feel up to it,” he said. It meant a lot for her to even offer. “Really?” he said, a little surprised. “Well, people have no taste, apparently.” He said. Doug nodded. “Good, that’s good. Yeah, I get that. Not like, exactly, obviously, just the whole fact of work being draining.” he chuckled a bit. Doug looked back over to the table. “Nope, don’t have to head to the club until later. That sounds great, if you wouldn’t mind the company.”
“I’ll try.” Zoe spoke with a soft smile. She meant that genuinely, even if it was visiting out of hours where temptation was less likely to strike; if it meant supporting a friend Zoe would obligue. Even if he didn’t mean it or she didn’t believe it, it did make her features soften a little bit. She doubted everyone but him were wrong, though she appreciated the attempt. “I love it- it’s just..alot.” She didn’t want to go into too much detail, especially since it was the first time they’d seen each other in a long time. The last thing she wanted was to burden him with her problems, so she kept it simply and light. “I always like you’re company, come on.” The blonde nodded as she moved to take a seat back down at the table. “How is the club going?”
