I like the desert. I never understood why the olds hate it when someone says they hate sand. A collective groan echoes through the room and Great Uncle Connor begins his saying. The saying is repeated often because we live in a desert city. I enjoy the happiness from his face when he gets a chance to complete the saying. “... It’s coarse, rough, and irritating - and it gets everywhere.”

I’m not sure what it means, but I don’t have to know to enjoy how his face lights up. There aren’t a lot of olds who have that much happiness in Plant City.

We kids have to stay with the olds during the day while our parents work, which is fine with me - the olds are funny when they bicker. The stories they tell are often in bits and pieces, and it is a rule that they argue about who is right.

Drinking coffee and monster produce such drastically different effects in my system it’s insane.
