Little things I’ve loved about every person I’ve dated

I just realized that I’ve been dating for about 10 years now, which is a wild achievement for an uggo gremlin like me, so I’m compiling the compelling little  lovable quirks so I won’t forget: 

Ash: Her voice! So rich, so pleasing. Big doe eyes. Bitingly funny. 

Bridget: Cares about people’s feelings so much. Almost to a fault. She was the first person I had oral sex with and I’m sure I was a b y s m a l but she was so sweet about it

Levi: Huge, frighteningly prodigious memory. Can rattle off song lyrics, plot points to books, movie quotes like a computer. So quick-witted and smart.

Tona: So passionate, so sensual. Wanted to experience new things with me. My veganism bugged him the most because he wanted me to taste and smell the exact same things as him, which I think is so sweet.

Cliff: His accent, of course. His love of family (mine and his). His victory dance when he codes something correctly. His humility in spite of the fact that he’s literally royalty in his country. His cleanliness.

Some old housemates of mine were Syrian Orthodox. At their church different members of the church took turns baking the bread that would be consecrated for the Eucharist. This was all well and good until one woman baked raisin bread. This led to the memorable occasion of a rather flustered priest, who had not seen the bread until that moment, declaring, “This - except for the raisins - is the Body of Christ.”

and if they had a terrible teacher who turned them off and made them think they were bad at it, that’s because we have a truly wretched education system
