I don't know how to tell you
I don't remember how much love you poured in
it all paled in comparison to his absence
his presence.
I don't know how to tell you
you did your best
it was made not good enough by his words
his silence.
I don't know how to tell you
it's not your love that I face the world with
fear he planted makes me cower.
I wish you were enough to wash it
his permenant stain.
But thank you
for loving me all the same.
