I know DNIs are functionally useless as most people won’t respect them, but know that I’ll be blocking any bigots (yes, that includes exclusionists and TERFs and transmeds/truscum) as well as “pr*-sh*ppers”/”anti-antis” (PARTICULARLY “MAP supporter” types).
Also, full disclosure, if you post a lot of negativity for the show, I’ll probably block you just because I really don’t want to see that. It’s nothing personal, this is just kind of my hyperfixation / comfort thing right now.

Rewatching the series and I had forgotten how dead set Nicholas is on giving Reynie a biscuit when he comes to ask about Constance in episode 2 ? Poor boy he's so uncomfortable and awkward and Mr. Benedict is just like. I must Feed the child.
This is canon to me because the second time Reynie refuses it, Nicholas just tries to feed Number two instead (she already has her own place, disappointment)
watching the new taskmaster and jumping up and down bc one of the tasks is literally reynie's lightbulb logic puzzle. wish i was a contestant just so i could jump up and down screaming on camera going I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS AAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!! within two seconds. when kumail started figuring it out, almost, i was losing my shit hooting and hollering.
you cant ever let yourself forget what it felt like to be 15. how adults treated you. being treated without a shred of respect because people think youre too young to have thoughts and feelings of your own. the lack of autonomy. you cant ever forget that because if you do you might become the kind of adult who treats kids like theyre not people
Trenton Lee Stewart, the author of The Mysterious Benedict Society, has said something similar about being 12 years old.
He made a promise to himself, when he was that age, that he'd never forget what it was like to be a kid with deep thoughts and a sophisticated mind. He wouldn't forget it, the way most adults seem to. And he never did. He wrote books for kids at a high reading level, and he never talked down to them or patronized them.
I went digging on the internet till I found one of the interviews in which he talked about this.
Here's a quote about the promise he made to himself when he was a deep-thinking kid:
"I had an odd self-conscious moment when I became keenly aware of the fact that I was having these thoughts, and then suspicious that years later I might — as some adults seem to do — forget that as a kid I’d ever been capable of thinking in complete sentences and experiencing real emotions. So I promised myself I’d remember that moment, and somehow I did.
"I’m not sure exactly how this has influenced my writing. But I try to see kids as humans rather than props in the lives of adults, and I imagine young readers can sense this."
