my favorite ongoing bit this season is the comedic timing every time rhaenyra is in the council room yelling mostly to herself and mysaria about all the things she's gonna get done that day and all the decisions she's gonna make by herself in her infinite wisdom as queen to DESTROY the HIGHTOWER TRAITORS and then it immediately cuts to her storming into alicent's chambers to get her piece of daily advice and a peck on the cheek

the emphasis on the targ’s connection to their dragons this episode was so good. aegon and daeron calling sunfyre and tessarion ‘my boy’ and ‘my girl’ respectively. aegon’s insistence that sunfyre is still alive, and his grief for him being the most human we’ve ever seen aegon. rhaena refusing to abandon sheepstealer, despite the fact that claiming him effectively ruined her life, her devotion to him is absolute. and then contrasting all of that with ormund’s speech at the end, painting the targaryen connection to dragons as something evil, something to be reviled while still benefitting from daeron’s connection to tessarion…it’s just so good. i love my show
