âCanât help it, this whole place has rubbed me up the wrong way since we got here. I mean seriously, who in the hell lives in a town called Charming and takes themselves this seriously?â Arlo scoffed as he looked around the room. It was clear the people from both sides of the party were having an easier time than he was at relaxing and enjoying the company of everyone new, and he wondered if they were going to regret it when the events of the weekend unraveled around them all. âDamn right I am, might make him wait to die till last though, so he can watch everyone else go first, let him see all that tragedy and realize he failed.â He wasnât even sure where this side of him came for, he had always been so good, so on the right path and fighting the good sight. Even as a solider he had tried where he could to do things the right way, but being a part of the Unfazed had brought something different out in him.Â
âIt is a bit....obnoxious isnât it? They could stand to loosen up a little bit, but I think theyâre just intimidated by our presence. It has put them on guard.â Smart, Bian thought. They would be quite the idiots if they didnât feel the least bit threatened by the their presence. Francesca was many things, but an idiot was not one of them. Too bad sheâd never know the truth of what was to come until it was too late. âYou really donât like him. Itâs unfortunate I missed your confrontation with each other. Iâm sure I would have enjoyed it immensely. Itâs brought out more of your edge. Good. Youâre gonna need it.â She knew what was to come would be messy and not at all easy. Anyone in the crew without the resolve to get through it was at risk of being left behind. And the Unfazed handled all loose ends. There were no exceptions.

If she had known that Charmingâs Town Meeting would be such a high profile event, then perhaps Mariel would have prepped herself mentally for a run in with her pasts. She was still on edge from her encounter with Matt, but decided to even it out with someone in a similar boat that she knew wasnât a double crossing, lying piece ofâ
Itâs why she was here in Agostinoâs with Bian Sinclair, a member of The Unfazed. In truth, Mariel just wanted an understanding as to why paths are being crossed with groups from a different territory. It was a no brainer to the attorney that an agenda was in place. Sheâd seen it happen before with the different cases sheâd handled and studied. Truthfully, she wouldnât be surprised if the outcome would end in bloodshed.Â
Lifting her glass of red wine for a sip, she flashed a gracious smile at Bian and said, âThank you for meeting with me. Itâs been quite some time since weâve last talked. All is well I hope? I believe the last time we spoke, I had one of your dealers acquitted of murder.âÂ
Most people would probably be surprised to see Bian out having a dinner with a lawyer, but she didnât see the problem. Some relationships require a softer tough and maintaining a working relationship with Mariel was important for not only Bian but for the whole Unfazed crew. Plus the woman was very good at her job and Bian had a lot of respect for people who were great at their craft. âI havenât had to call you up so Iâd say things have been fantastic. I was quite surprised to see you out here. It doesnât seem like the kind of town youâd settle in. When did you make the move?â
arlorossi¡:
It had been hard to find a balance, proving himself with his fists was one thing, he could rough people up, get involved in the tit for tat bits but when it came to the life altering stuff? He always had to find a way to work around it, to make up an excuse, to find another way..and in the very few occasions he hadnât been able to over the years it had caused a world of paper work for those back at the Bureau. Still, he tried not to flinch too much, and any tick he did have he just blamed on the war flash backs which had seemed to keep everyone content. âI canât wait.â He mused, dark eyes scanning the people and their minglings that were happening around them. âSome of them, others Iâve been tempted to strangle on an hourly basis.â And it wasnât a lie. He might have been against violence but with the way his nerves were fried and things were ready to go to shit anyway, he would happily take out a few of the damn Wolves with him on the way out if he needed to. âI swear when the times comes, if any one else takes out that Cortez guy, Iâm going to take it as a personal offence, heâs mine and Iâm going to enjoy that one.âÂ
A small chuckle escaped her lips at his mention of wanting to strangle people. âOh, donât let them get under your skin. Weâll be out of here in a matter of days.â Bian tried to place the name Cortez when he mentioned wanting to take him out personally. Sheâs sure she had met him before, but they hadnât had much personal interaction. She liked to see the fire come out of Arlo, even if it was a little funny to her. âAre you calling dibs right now? How cute. Iâll do my best to make sure you have the pleasure of taking care of him. Do be patient though. We must play our cards right and handle what we came here for first. But,â She paused, to turn her head and address him head on. âIf something were to happen to him in the ensuing chaos well...that would just be a tragedy, wouldnât it?â

Bian had found herself perched on a bar stool in the club enjoying a glass of Jack Daniels as the party raged on behind her. These things were only fun to her in bursts. She mostly enjoyed the people watching aspect of it, learning about those who let their guards down when they get drunk and the different ticks people have. It made her so much better at her job when she could read people. She wasnât much of a dancer, but she was definitely a drinker. Someone took a seat next to her and when she looked at them, she recognized the woman immediately. âMiss Laurent, I suppose someone should thank you all for your hospitality. This is quite the welcome party and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. How is your evening going?â
The Unfazed were of no importance to her, she didnât have any business with them but she didnât want them here. They were another wrench in the fact that the Devilâs controlled everything in this town, in this state. Even at the end of the day she knew the Wolves were bad for them. No matter how much she did enjoy Fran and Yenâs company in the end it would be the Devilâs. When she walked into the Casino the last thing she expected was to run into one of the Unfazed. âWell.â she looked the woman over, âWhy are the beautiful ones always in gangs.â @nikkirayburnâ
Bian was amused by the womanâs question. She wasnât all the way familiar with her, but sheâd seen her around before. She knew she was affiliated with the MC in town. âWell obviously thatâs because we know how to have fun. Or perhaps itâs the secret need for danger we harbor. How about you tell me?â She replied, laughing a little at her own question.

The welcome party for the Unfazed.Â
Bian. How could he describe the way he felt about Bian, it wasnât that he liked her, or at least he hadnât when he had first integrated himself into the Unfazed, but even in the days heâd been a squeaky clean agent out in the field he had admired her. And now, he respected her, feared her, and in many terms, had every intention of helping her flourish. He wanted them all the flourish but with Bian it was something else, as his direct âmanagerâ heâd spent hours slaving away with her, working for what the Unfazed had, and if he could help her crush the Wolves and take them out, to develop the drug trade theyâd gotten this far, then heâd do it. Job or not. Coming to stop just behind her, Arlo let his shoulder connect with hers slightly to let him know she were there, stood just behind him waiting and watching the same way he had done for years now. Keeping an eye on the dealings and her. âSo, do you think the smiles on their faces are going to survive our trip?â He mused, fighting his own smirk as he looked at the celebrations around town.Â
Brown eyes scanned the the club as more and more people packed in for the welcoming party. She was keeping an eye on her people as well as the locals. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. That was good. Nice, even. Bian felt someone step up to her side and with a slight look to her right she spotted Arlo. They had a bit of a rough start when he joined the Unfazed. His penchant to stray away from the more violent parts of the job clashed with her want for the dealers working under her to be proficient in every aspect of the job. Never let it be said that Bian wasnât amenable. What Arlo lacked in a violent streak he made up for in intelligence, problem-solving, and a mind for business she actually kind of admired. He quickly became someone sheâd trusted most with the inner workings of their drug distribution. âIf everything goes to plan, no one will be smiling by the time we leave. Well...except for us. Weâll let them have their fun for now. What about you? Getting along with the residents of this town?â She asked, a bit teasingly.

âI feel like Iâm back in high school and we just went on a weekend field trip or something,â Arthur said with a laugh as he subtly came inside Bianâs room, making sure his son wouldnât see him getting inside. He knew his son kept telling him to go out there and get himself into a new relationship before he got even older but at this point, Arthur knew that was impossible, and he was definitely already very happy with how his life was as of the moment. There was no mistaking that the woman was absolutely stunning, but even more than that, Bian was one of Artâs closest friends. He trusted her with his life, with his sonâs life, and to him that was so much more than love â but he did love her too, as he did with a lot of the other members of The Unfazed he has come to think of as family. âYou doing okay?â He asked, as he leaned in for a kiss.Â
Bian was getting settled into her motel room when Arthur entered. She turned from putting her clothes away and leaned against the dresser as she smiled at his joke. âWe are way too old for that, but I bet you were the one who did sneak into the girlsâ room when the coaches or chaperones went to bed.â While her and Arthur werenât in a relationship, theyâd been through a lot with the club. He was one of the closest people to her and there was a familiarity there that made their transition into the physical seamless. She kissed him back before asking his question. âIâm fine. Just keeping my eyes peeled. This is a very important trip, but I donât have to tell you that.â
