Don’t be sorry! It’s never too early to start planning for something, especially not when it’s something like Halloween that effects everybody. And as for the new kids and whether or not we should have new sensitivities regarding them this holiday season, I hadn’t even thought about that! Which now, thinking about it, might make me not the best person to ask. But I get that asking them might make them feel put on the spot so I’ll try. I think things the way they usually are are pretty amazing, and that there’s probably no decoration you could find that’s scarier than anything they’ve seen in real life. It’s the new kids’ first time having a real holiday though so maybe making it extra special could be interesting. Like switching directions from generic spookiness to a masquerade, which is also very Halloween in concept but less “scary”? I don’t know, sorry if I just added more options and didn’t help narrow anything down at all!
Would you be offended if I said I planned on asking for other opinions, too? One’s just such a small sample size; I trust your opinion very much, but I know other people think differently so I figured it couldn’t hurt to check with more people. So far, though, no one else has worried about it; I don’t know if that indicates for sure that I’m overthinking this, though, or if that means that we just grew up somewhere with such different circumstances that it’s impossible to fathom how it might make them feel! Do you think Mal and Evie like me enough for me to ask them? I can definitely ask Carlos, but assuming all villain kids have the same opinion doesn’t seem any fairer than assuming all Auradon kids do! And now I’m just rambling, gosh, sorry for talking your ear off when you were just trying to be a good friend and help me. I love the masquerade idea, though. We could still have all the spooky decorations and the dancing and the revelry but we could add in things like a costume contest... and maybe a carnival and all sorts of other things, to make sure they get the full experience. I know some of those things we don’t do anymore now that we’re grown up college students and all, but well -- we’ve got lost time to make up for now, it’s only right.

It is overwhelming! Sometimes I feel like I’m just walking in circles, you know? I’ve already been late to class a few times but so far the teachers have been really, really nice about it! I’m sure we’ll figure it out in no time though. Maybe there should be maps! Or something on our phones, phones help people get around easier over here, right?
Oh, gosh, just so long as you’re not actually walking in circles. I know it’s great for your daily step count, but it gets very frustrating when you just can’t figure out where to go. That’s when I have to put down the clipboard and remind myself ‘Jane! Something around here has to look different; you need to search for it instead of letting yourself get caught in an endless loop.’ I totally agree with you about the maps, by the way. They’re so useful for traveling from building to building, but for some reason they haven’t mastered indoor maps on phones yet. Maybe it’s because of the buildings having multiple stories -- do you think that’s the problem? I’d have to ask Carlos or someone who’s a bit better at science if GPS technology can’t figure out going up and down flights of stairs yet and if that’s the holdup.
Sorry, I know this seems so early to be worrying about this, but well... it’s around the time I start planning the Halloween Ball every year, and now that there are more kids from the Isle here, I’m just overthinking things more than usual. Do you think any of our normal decorations are going to be triggering for them? Should I do business as usual, or try to adjust things to appeal to Auradon’s newest citizens?
@dougsnotdopey
I know the castle can be really overwhelming at first, but don’t feel bad if you get lost on your way to classes! I’ve been hanging out in this castle basically since before I was born, and even I still get lost sometimes; you’re not alone.
