man trying to navigate online schooling as an autistic person is harder than i thought it'd be.

i want to study on campus but the travel time & the fear of covid. ugh

submitted an assignment on time for the first time in yonks 🥳🥳🥳 i have a good feeling about this semester. it feels like a clean slate. i'm gonna spend most of tomorrow at the library, studying. :+)

been a while since ive posted!

just a small update on my studies:

- i've secured industry placement at a fairly local library service, so that's exciting!

- i *may* have to repeat one of my units, which is alright, although i will incur extra debt for it :-S i just haven't had the time/patience/energy to complete it.

- i'm on my one week break now. next block i want to take my studies more seriously. it's difficult though.

do y'all have any tips for maintaining motivation? (especially when studying & working at the same time)

i applied to do a bachelor of arts/science with my uni next year! so if all goes to plan i'll be living near or on-campus and actually going to classes. i'm excited.

#money is def an issue still tho like i work a minimum wage job but #the lease on this place is up before the school term begins so hopefully that'll give me enough time to sort everything out #maybe im thinking too far ahead into the future #hopefully i can get a better paying job this year thru my diploma #just gotta FOCUS and commit to IT!

you ever just. submit an assignment late and its not even good but you don't care because you've got other assignments coming up... yay #learning

going to my first webinar in a couple of weeks! i hate that anxiety and exhaustion gets in the way of me doing what i want (well, need) to do. still. small progress is still progress.

after this im definitely going to do some much-needed reading/catching up.

hello! i'm hal. currently studying a diploma of library and information services.

i've been falling behind due to lack of motivation/concentration and hopefully starting this blog might help a bit. i want to track my progress, rather than just put on the appearance of studying.

i genuinely enjoy learning and consolidating information but... my brain just. gets in the way sometimes, you know? this seems like a step in the right direction.
