The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness I've got to admit; I really liked this book. It takes place in that world where every Fantasy YA novel takes place, except: This story doesn't happen to the Protagonist/The Chosen One, it happens to the other people living in the town. This is the story of four friends living on the outskirts of the action, trying to overcome their own problems and staying out of trouble. And let me tell you; it's genius! Every chapter you get a small summary of whatever is going on for The Chosen Ones at the same time, but then the rest of the chapter is about what's happening to our four characters. The characters are very likeable and felt very real. At times I cried and at other times it was hilarious, either way I couldn't stop reading. I might be a bit biased, as the main character has OCD, which I struggle with too, but honestly I think everyone can relate to these characters and their struggles. I highly recommend it!

I’ve been in France for the past two weeks, so while I have read a bunch of books since my last book review I haven’t had a chance to review them yet. I’ll probably review them over the next couple of days!

Just Henry by Michelle Magorian Just finished reading this book, and I rather enjoyed it. It's set in 1949 and follows the 14-year old boy Henry and all the people involved in his life. The book is rather on the long side (over 700 pages!) which meant that you really got to know the characters and feel connected to them. The second half of the book was exhilarating and half-way to a spy novel, and the way the story suddenly unraveled and you realised the narrator was unreliable was beautifully executed. People who are interested in early movies and film cameras will be delighted with the film, as it focuses on such themes because of the interest the main character has in them. I must admit that while the story didn't touch me deeply and it might not be a book I'll think of in the future significant to me, it was a good and worthwhile read.

found this great camera at a thrift shop for almost no money a few days ago. It’s a Kodak camera from 1959 and it just uses standard 35mm film which can be bought anywhere! I’m super excited to try and develop pictures at home as soon as i’ve taken some pictures.

Just read Teeth by Hannah Moskowitz last night.

Without wanting to spoil the story here’s what i’ll tell you: It’s such a charming book. Imagine if you will an old fairy tale of forgotten islands and magic fish and mermen and loss and love, but now imagine it happens to a teenager and it’s both a funny and a sad story and it’s not really a fairy tale at all it’s just something that happens to a boy named Rudy.

Here is as much as i’ll tell you of the story: The teenager Rudy moves to a small village, because his brother is sick and the fish there will save him. There Rudy meets a boy, who is… half fish? I know it sounds lame or weird but i promise you it’s such a heart wrenching story of how much you’re willing to sacrifice for someone you love even if that person isn’t all human.

It’s an easy read, the writing style is straight forward and contemporary and before you know it you’ll be both laughing and crying and wondering what it’s like to fall in love with a boy who is half fish. I recommend.

This is a book store called El Ateneo in Buenos Aires, Argentina! You can have coffee while sitting on the stage. One of my favorite places in my city.
