Acts of betrayal whether motivated by self-interest, fear, or other factors are often deeply resented, especially as some Algerians choose to live contentedly in France, despite its colonial past. While many nations offer opportunities for a new life, France remains a popular choice, raising questions about why some remain so attached to a former colonizer when freedom affords a multitude of options. This attachment, in the face of numerous choices, underscores the profound weight of loyalty and memory in times of national struggle
