Finished two weeks of jury duty a few days ago. First time doing the whole process. Many people gave me tips on how to avoid being selected. I have to say, this was a great experience and I’m was glad and proud of doing it. The group of juros was so committed and respectful, which gave me hope given everything going on in this world. It was an emotionally hard case. Regardless, we did all that we could to fulfill our duty. However, the most unexpected thing happened at the end, when the judge came to our room to give us our certificates and thanked us for our work. He was truly thankful and really opened to answering all our questions. In addition, the two attorneys also stayed after the trial was over and also answered our many questions. We had so many, about the evidence, the process, the people involved. For example, did you know that 911 calls are now only saved for 90 days? Anyway l know our justice system has many flaws, and I’m sure my experience is not the same for others. However, if you can, be a juror at least once. You might be positively surprised by the experience.
