DEVIL’S ADVOCATE (1997) I fucking love Al Pacino, he is at his best in the film, I love the character he plays and he executes it with such precision. I love how quick his dialogue responses are and how witty/dark he can be, couldn’t have a better actor to play the role.

It’s amusing, to me, to torture a cop. You can say anything you want cause I’ve heard it all before. All you can do is pray for a quick death, which you ain’t gonna get.

Mr. Blonde: You ever listen to K-Billy’s “Super Sounds of the Seventies” weekend? It’s my personal favorite.

Quentin Tarantino had a total budget of 13 grand for the sound track of reservoir dogs, all 13 grand went on “Stuck in the middle with you” which made one of the most memorable scenes in independent film, ever.

KILL BILL VOLUME 1 (2003) Quentin's first shot at directing this type of action as his 4th film and what a terrific job he did. The scene in the house of blue leaves when Uma takes on the crazy 88 could be one of the best directed action fight scenes of the decade. Not only was this his first go at shooting in this specific genre but he also shot the whole scene in the house of blue leaves in the Hong Kong style. The Hong Kong style for anyone who doesn't know is a single camera method of shooting a scene, as opposed to the preferred American way of shooting a scene in which the director will split the room in half and shoot all the shots that happens on one half of the room and then do the other half the Hong Kong style involves going hand held and shooting the scene 360 as it happens around the camera. This style stems from martial arts movies made in China and allows fight scenes to feel more organic as opposed to having to shoot shots 1, 4, 9, 15, 18 out of order the fight scene can organically unfold it's self and be captured chronologically. For Quentin to decide to shoot this way for such a huge scene in his debut martial arts movie was a big risk which paid off to make one of the best shot martial art fight scenes ever. The film it's self is great, the writing is class as usual from Quentin and Uma Thuman plays such a good badass. It's cool to think that Quentin was writing kill bill way back when he has just made Pulp Fiction back in 94, Quentin and Uma came up with the idea for a betrayed bride on a journey of revenge while in production on Pulp. One of my favourite action flicks, if you haven't seen it, do it.

THE REVENANT (2015) Tonight I watched a flick I have been longing to see since the day I saw the trailer. Tom Hardy and Leonardo DiCaprio in the same film, who can ask for better? But who is this mysterious Alejandro G. Iñárritu and where can I get more? The film was beautifully directed with some of the best hand held and uncut sequences I've ever seen, I look forward to more material from Alejandro. The cinematography was stunning with great visuals and a lovely colour, but the big question is... Is it Oscar worthy for Leo? Possibly. I wouldn't say it's the best role he's player but he definitely put his heart into this one and I hope that's enough, the man is well overdue. Great flick, 8/10 worth a watch!

THE HATEFUL EIGHT (2015) Anyone who knows me will know that I am a massive Tarantino fan, In Fact he is one of my favourite directors. My anticipation for this flick was incredible, I was literally counting down the days until the release date. I went out and saw it on the opening day for the flick in the UK and was not disappointed but didn't write about it after as I wasn't back to reviewing again at the time. Although some may bitch about the film for being near on 3 hours long, who an earth is bothered by 3 consecutive hours of Tarantino? I thought the cinematography for the flick was amazing, even more impressive than Django Unchained (2012). I also really enjoyed Tim Roth's performance, he reminded me of Christoph Waltz in some way, who I am a massive fan of. Samuel Jackson was impressive as always and it was also nice to see Kurt Russell in action. Quentin is on the top of his game at the moment with Django and now this, I'm so excited to find out what's coming next from the mastermind.

BLOOD DIAMOND (2006) What a film, hadn't seen in a while and decided to give it a watch this evening. Defiantly forgot how good it was and how well DiCaprio does a South African accent! Shows the truth behind lots of things that really happen in Africa and the corruption that ruined a beautiful continent for many years, and still effects it to this day.

LEGEND (2015) Great flick! Watched this for the second time this evening and was equally as impressed as the first time I saw it. Great British film with great British Actors. Very realistic, well directed and impeccable performance from Tom Hardy. Best British gangster film in years.

SOUTHPAW (2015) Watched this flick this evening, not my usual pick but I’ve had it on Blu Ray for a couple months and hadn’t watched it yet. I’m not the one to usually give negative reviews on films but this wasn’t great. Extremely predictable story from the get-go, poor acting and an overall disappointment. Gonna have to give it a 3/10. Going to have to watch an epic tomorrow to compensate.
