Urban Outfitters MasterBoast
Okay, don’t psyche yourself out. It’s easy. Promise. Just be sure to fully read and abide by all these tips.
Before you walk in there is prep to be done. Find any store that gives square bags that are structured like this:
…and ask for one for your jacket, or say you need one or two for a project on ‘branding’ at college (if they ask questions just say you don’t know anything yet, just that you’ve to choose a brand and obtain some bags). Once in the street or unmonitored like in a toilet or something, take your jacket out if its in there and put it on or in your bag and put a few things in the shopping bag like your make up bag or something you have on, the point is to make it look like you bought something from that store but if it looks too empty that might cause suspicion, don’t fill it up though, you want enough space for a good haul (especially if you want to get shoes). I find you only need to fill up like a quarter or a third of the space to make it look normal.
Take your damn magnet because everything is tagged. Urban Outfitter does have magnet sensors but you can get past them. Before you leave home, wear a jacket or cardigan or jumper or anything with long sleeves and chunky cuffs and put some elastic bands or bobbles (hair elastic) around your wrist. While unmonitored, tuck the magnet into the sleeve by opening your bag as if looking for your phone or something them slip it in your cuff and hold it there with the elastic bands or hair ties or just use your fingers/thumb to keep it there. As you walk through the barriers, fix your hair or stretch, just get your arm high in the air with the magnet at your wrist so it goes over the sensors without looking suspicious, do the same when walking out. This is worth practicing in the mirror at home or in a public toilet for like two minutes until you can make it look as natural as possible.
Okay now were in. See, its easy so far. Piece of cake.
Now scan like a normal customer, be aware of where staff are but don’t look at them obviously, be subtle, pretend they’re a hottie that you have a crush on and you wanna check them out but you don’t want them to see you gawk at them. This is why it’s easy, you already have the skills you need to do this (unless you’re asexual/aromantic in which case pretend your looking for bunnies in a meadow but if they see you they’ll scatter and if you don’t like bunnies then get the fuck off the internet and find yourself a fucking soul). If you notice employees following you and not really doing much in the way of normal jobs i.e. are they just playing with the hangers on rails? Folding already folded items? Basically are they trying to look busy without being busy while following you? Then they probably picked up that you have a magnet, and they’re watching to make sure you’re not shoplifting. It just means that maybe you were too early or late putting your hand in the air as we walked in but its okay just walk out, getting nothing is better than getting caught. Always. If this happens then its best just to leave and go home, stores in the same area notify each other of shoplifters and you may be getting followed by a plain clothed security guard, just go home. If you want to be super safe you can circle around for a bit or sit down in a restaurant for ages then go to your car in case they take down your license plate. If you don’t have a car, thats cool just go home, better safe than sorry.
Now to lifting, if you’re 100% sure you’re not being followed these are the techniques that I employ to get the various different items that Urban Outfitters stock. Use these well, don’t be greedy, be aware of your skill level and well aware of your surroundings.
Little items like books, home accessories, jewellery can be carried in your hands until you find a spot where no can see you and just stuff what you want into your bag. Corners are always good so no one can see you, even drop some items into your bag from your hand while browsing through a rail, make sure no one can see from behind or at the sides. Always detag and check thoroughly in changing room, make sure you find a spot where any one who saw you with the item(s) in your hand wont see you emerge without the item(s) after you emerge, for undies not on hangers use the same technique
Shoes and bags are trickiest because of bulk but not too hard. Do not walk around the shop with these big items, people will see and it will cause suspicion if they then see you without them because they’re really obvious. Conceal these items in your bag as close to where you picked them up as possible and don’t let anyone see you. Find the right box with the right size inside (taking display items leaves an obvious and suspicious gap, its not subtle, don’t even attempt it) and when no one is looking, shove it in your bag, use the same technique for handbags. This is why you need a square shaped bag, so its not obvious theres now a big item there that wasn’t there before. Check for tags in changing room. if the shoe/bag area just isn’t empty, then don’t take chances, just don’t bother with them this time
Clothes are oh so satisfying and quite easy to steal too. you can have a bunch of clothes that you want hanging in your hands and shove them all in your bag in a spot where no one can see you or will see you emerge and detag in the changing room. And/or you can pick up some chunky items and at least one item with pockets, hang the items you want on the chunkier items so the attendant doesn’t see them when you go into the changing rooms (don’t be greedy, too many/too heavy clothes will slip of hangers and make a dumbass mess, spread out the weight on different chunky items) detag and put all tags/labels in the pockets of an item before stuffing what you want into your bag (Urban Outfitters hide rfid tags in their labels and double tag often, be aware of this) and then give any chunky items you don’t want back to the attendant as you leave but be sure to take the pocketed item with you and put it back where you found it, if the attendant finds tags in an item you gave them, they’ll know u stealin.
When it’s time to leave, just keep cool, act normal, and be sure to carry your magnet over the barriers like we did as we walked in.
Don’t go for a big haul first time thats dumb as hell, be patient, work your way up, never take risks, keep your ass safe.
The alarm shouln’t go off if you detagged properly but if it does go off just keep calmly walking, they may not follow you if you keep to your walk but will always chase if you run.
Be safe, these techniques are not for newbies, intermediates at least.
Happy lifting!!
