this is getting me soooooo confused! I'm sure I saw something about this a while ago, but non rdif (or however it's spelled) sticker tags dont beep? just what kind of paper/sticker tags beep and dont beep?

rfid tags beep, but no other stickers or tags beep. if a sticker tag is beeping, it’s because there’s a rfid under or sewn into it. rfids can look different, but the common thing you’ll always be able to see is the wiring in it.

in the first one, you’ll be able to see the wiring on the back of the sticker and you can just peel it off. in the second one, you can see that they’re kind of raised, which means the wiring is encased in it. you can just peel those ones off too.

Hey so I just wanted to know if you have any tips for making sure my posts/hauls don't get outside of the community? Also wondering if theres a master post for all the store name hastags that everyone in the community uses like instead of sep.hor/a everyone types it as Seph0r@, are they universally typed that way? i honestly am also terrified of my posts getting outside of the community, but there are lots of precautions you can take. every few weeks, i go through my followers and block people that aren’t lïfting blogs and haven’t messaged me. if they are a lïfting blog but they show their likes or following then i’ll message them but if they don’t reply i’ll probably end up blocking them. i also don’t tag any of my posts and i use the accents in keywords like $ephor@.

for the accents and stuff i don’t think there’s a universal way to do it, i just kinda replace letters where i feel like it. it can be as simple as accenting every vowel like lïftïng or replacing every single letter with a symbol! it’s up to you!

i’ve lifted $200 worth of mostly stationary and little earring packs but i really want to start lifting clothes but every time i attempt it i feel like i’m being watched. any advice?

my advice kinda depends on the store, but overall just act like you aren’t doing anything wrong and you belong there. if you get nervous or act suspicious, people are more likely to catch on. i promise you that people aren’t watching you as much as you think! (also i always find that clearance areas are a lot less visible and make me feel like i’m being watched less)

i have an neodymium magnet, they have different levels of strength i think, i have an n-92. it’s never beeped at any towers, but if yours does, i’d just blame it on your phone.

i HATE lïfting tiktok so much!!! they call it borrowing but like? the tips are so fucking bad no one knows how to be not sus or do anything and like! please you’re giving actual lïfters a terrible reputation and lïftïng shouldn’t be so mainstream at all

I never lifted at Séphôrâ or even went there but one day I want to and when I do, what are things I gotta look out for? I mean I know about the cameras and employees. Are the palettes tagged? and which products aren’t? I’m guessing it depends on which store.

hello i’m finally answering all my asks today!

for sephora there will most definitely be rfid tags on palettes and bigger things like perfume. putting rfids on smaller things like lipsticks or mascara probably depends on the store. i’d still check everything, even the small stuff.

for things like lipsticks or eyeliner, i’ll just take it out of the package and slide it up my sleeve.

one method you can use to see if there’s an rfid in an item is to pretend to be on a phone call and say something like “oh you’re parking right now? i don’t see you” and then kind of step out the door and look around while holding onto the palettes to see if they beep at the door. then go back inside and keep browsing or get the sticker off or whatever you need to do.

another thing you can do is open up the palettes to check for rfids on the inside of the cardboard box it comes in. if an sa asks what you’re doing, just say that you’re checking if anything is broken before you buy it.

one tip for the era of masks we’re livin in—bring multiple different masks with you. like wear a plain black one but bring one of those single-use blue ones. you get heavy sussed or chased? switch masks, take off/put on a sweater, put your hair up/down (or use a hat if u have short hair). maybe adjust ur makeup if necessary. bam ur a different person now.

super fuckin easy to blend in with a crowd when mall security are looking for someone with a black mask in a red shirt and ur wearing a blue mask with a black hoodie.

my guide to every store i’ve ever lifted from!!!

beginner:

cl@ire’s - no alarms, no cameras, and employees usually aren’t paying attention. only thing you need to stay away from are other customers and employees.

h0t tôpîc - usually no cams, but i’ve seen one or two in some stores. they have alarms but there aren’t tags on many objects, usually just expensive jewelry and stuff. usually i like grabbing a ton of pins because they’re easy! sometimes i won’t even look ill just grab a handful and shove it in my bag lmao.

br@ndy mèllvîlé - everyone says it’s hard but when i went there were no cams and no alarms? i went to one where it was inside a pacsun tho, so idk if other locations are different. just be careful and aware!

intermediate:

mîçhâèl’ś - tbh it depends on the location but usually there’s a lot of good blind spots and no alarms. i’ve also heard they have pretty much no LP and cams aren’t monitored. some locations are sooooo easy and others are a little harder, it really just depends.

lûśh - they don’t have cams or alarms but the stores are really small so employees are kind of always looking at you.

b@th and b0dy w0rkś - ive seen some stores that have no cameras, and some with a ton. usually employees aren’t paying attention but it depends. it’s really just a wild card.

5 bèlôw - decent amount of cams but usually you can get a blind spot in the makeup section! idk how well cams are monitored but you should always assume they are.

hard:

j0@nn3’s - a lot of cameras. you might be able to find a small blind spot but usually it’s pretty difficult.

t@rg3t - dont lift from target. just don’t do it lmao they have amazing security. i’ve heard they have people undercover pretending to be shoppers but idk if it’s true. and they have sooooo many cameras, like literally no blind spots.

One of the absolute worst things about them is their false information. T!kT0k is filled with young kids, and giving 10 year olds false stealing tips that are bound to get them caught just for t!kt0k clout is so disgusting. Not only are they exposing the community, they’re also telling kids that places like Ulta, Target, Walmart, and Kohls are easy to lift from. And while they may be for some people and at some locations, all of those stores are terrible ideas for beginners.

It’s disgusting, really, what people do for clout on an app.

Okay so I’m trying to collect information on sp1rAt Hall0weed and I don’t know if this should discourage me or encorage me to lift? They sell trump merch and costumes that are culture appropriation and yell at their employees? Owned by Spencer’s? But people are also saying that managers don’t care or the employees don’t!Let’s discuss! I honestly think the only thing bad is that employees are getting yelled at, as for the donating don’t all big brands donate to something?i wouldn’t wanna hurt any of those donations but I really fucking hate shitty brands but I can’t tell if spirit Halloween is shitty or not

EDIT: found some more information ig is owned by Spencer’s so it also sells the same items. Lowkey- rob them.even with the lifting they can still donate with what they make at Spencer’s.

honestly i think that they should still be a lifting option - they’re a wealthy chain, their parent company is powerful and open season for lifting, and there are ppl working there basically giving us the go ahead! i agree the only downside is that some employees get penalised bc of lifters, but isn’t that in the same vein of ppl telling us not to lift from ANYWHERE bc of the effect on the employees? plus if their parent company is spencers then i doubt we can lift enough to impact their donations - stores like this typically have shrink insurance anyway, right? we don’t have this store anywhere i can access it, but if i could lift from it then i think i would🤷‍♀️

Donations are optional, like heyo i worked there. Cashiers need to ask if the shoppers would like to donate, yeah the company still donates a bit but since its a seasonal store lifting is expected. Like so much merchandise was lifted or broken(by children, teenagers, and young adults using the fake weapons to battle. Ima be real me and the assistant manager fake battled a lot too cause almost bo one take the store serious). Not once did the managers, assistant manager, or district managers ever yell at the employees about theft. Also lift all you want cause we barely made minimum wage and were expected to do over time near/after halloween with only 1 30 minute break.

About the employees getting yelled at thing...

I feel like employees getting yelled at over theft is more of a management issue and not the lifters itself? There’s no policy at most stores that allow one to be punished for shrink because it wouldn’t be sustainable (and also illegal in quite a few areas). I absolutely feel for the workers as I’m in the same position but there are ways to whistleblow an abusive boss that I’d love to share if one needs it!

Unfortunately I feel that even if there were no lifters, the same people yelling at teens would find another reason to continue that kind of behavior. Companies like this absolutely take advantage of young people with low wages and short breaks. As a result of this, it is much harder to kick unprofessional management because the same people hired under shitty conditions feel as if they are either powerless against said management or simply unheard altogether.

Long story short: I believe the abusive (and yes, yelling at your employees IS abusive workplace practice) attitudes from management staff isn’t so much of a lifting issue, as it is company negligence. Lift away imo.
