Jeane held onto the male for a few minutes, a silent understanding between the two as of why. Truth be told, she had never felt that she belonged somewhere until she moved to this castle… and the majority of that was due to her friendship with Viktor. Of all the people she had met here, he was one of the kindest and most genuine. Not to mention her first friend ever.
She released him and took the fire crystal from his hand. “I have several Fires. Seems like everyone only wants Lightning or Earth these days. Would you like one? I could attach it for you or have Raura transcribe it into a few scrolls if you would like?”
He shook his head. “Nah - me and magic, we don’t get along very well. I stick to whacking the enemies and everybody else can show off their flashy runes.”
Viktor was not interested in sparks and bright colours - a good thump on the head gets the job done just as well.

“This is true, it’s much better than being by one’s self, and too many people can just be a bother anyway,” she hummed at his offer a bit, clearly this was one way to get Sierra’s interest. Drinking was one of few things she took enjoyment in, second only to sleeping in her eyes, “Very well, if you insist, heheh.”
She truly could sense the oddity to him being out here, as she had noted, something on his mind perhaps, and maybe thoughts of what one would do with themselves was on everyone’s mind at this point. The end of a war was a great change for a person, a sense of normalcy returning to them, after so long seeing destruction.
He poured the two of them a cup of wine and gave it to the vampire. Holding it up in the air, he exclaimed, “Cheers! To peace!”, before downing the red liquid in one shot. Viktor let out a sigh, licking off the excess liquid that was on his lips.
Viktor leaned against the old trunk of the willow and closed his eyes. He could already feel his head start to pound and every time he moved, he could feel the wine slosh around in his stomach. His cheeks were a dull red and if it warmed him up - it was lost in the cold of the dark night.
“Insanity over anything else, and yet I seem to react you being one of the people complaining over me acting insane apparently. A tleast insane was what people called it.”
In his mind, there was a little part that did agree on that what Luca was doing is insanity, though it was quickly drowned out by both the hunger for power and thanks to the beast rune.
“Nice of you to join me for this almost calm moment though.”
There is that damned smirk on his face again. A permanent thing for Luca.
He stared at the man.
“You don’t detect sarcasm very well, do you? When was the last time you’ve been out?” Viktor asked. He shifted, the shackles rattling against the room and scratching against his wrists. The man glanced around the room, looking for something - but there were only some old busted armor, boxes and a window overlooking the scenery.
Viktor began to wonder why Luca brought him up here instead of the prison - because of the leverage? The unpredictability? The lack of escape route? Or was there something that he wanted the mercenary to know?

“There is just not a calm moment with everyone here and everyone so upset over something, is there?”
Giving a slight chuckle, Luca raised an eyebrow slightly while looking at the other before just shaking his head, though the smirk that seemed to be permanent on his face was still there.
Viktor heard the sounds of weapon against weapon and yelling despite being inside the building. Two armies fighting outside...while he’s here. He struggled against the cuffs around his wrists, the metal scrapping against his skin.
“Calm moments are very overrated.” He said with a humor that he didn’t seem to have. “I prefer insanity over anything else.”

Jean giggled and nodded, a hand rushing to her face to stop anything from falling from her eye. Why was she so emotional about this? Of course he would be back! If Viktor was able to put on a smile and push forward, then she would also.
At his comment, she shrugged and laughed again. “Tessai was running my shop? Oh my, that couldn’t have been easy. Do I still have runes?”
As he started to unpack her boxes, she walked behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist once more, laying her head on his back. He’s the only friend she had it seemed and she was happy to see him. “Thank you Viktor… for welcoming me back.” With a quick squeeze, she let him go and then started unpacking a box on her counter, her mind wandering again.
“Well, tried to anyway. Wanted to use it for extra storage for his blacksmith’s shop, ‘course Riou didn’t allow him. Raura filled in for you, she’s a doll - a bit of airhead if you ask me but nothing wrong with being lighter than the rest yeah?” She almost always got lost on her way to the store - but she was a nice conversation in the mornings.
He pulled out a fire rune and examined it carefully before putting it down. Yeah, not today. “Yo, Jeane - how many do you have of these? It’s like a party in this - “ He stopped when he felt the woman suddenly engulf him in a hug. Viktor laughed, his chest shaking and patted her hand.
“’Tis no big deal. We all missed you. Least I can do.”

When the door opened, Jeane grinned brilliantly and smiled at Viktor, wrapping her arms around him and returning the embrace.
“Ran away together? Is that really the rumor?” She smiled a weak smile as she thought about Flik. Flik. She hadn’t heard his name spoken in quite some time but she thought of him every day. When she left, she tried to find him to tell him, but her caravan arrived before she could find him. For all intents and purposes, he probably assumed she left and didn’t want to tell him.
Her heart sank as she realized why Viktor brought it up. “So… Sir Flik isn’t at the castle either, then?” While her voice was light and she still wore a smile, her eyes betrayed her as they attempted to brim with tears.
A crying woman in the castle was not his intention. Thinking quick, he answered, “Hey now - you know how our pretty boy is, I’m sure he’s just doing some travelling. Flik’ll come back. He always does.” And Viktor believes that too.
He let go of her and began concerning himself with the boxes scattered around the room. Rubbing his hands together, he opened a package filled with rune crystals of different colours. “Enough about him, we got a shop to reopen! Everybody missed your lovely face - you’re a sight for sore eyes after weeks of Tessai and his crumb-filled beard.”

The sun stung her eyes as Jeane climbed out of the back of the covered cart and stared up at the castle. She had been gone for quite some time, the people of Harmonia having called her away once their own runesmith faced an untimely death and their apprentice in need of a skilled trainer. She had never been so happy to return somewhere, after all this place is home.
The door to her shop was locked, but she was ultimately surprised when her key still worked. She would need to stop in and let Riou know she was home soon, but for now it just felt good to be in her area once more. Just as she was closing the door behind her, she heard a small knock.
“Yes, who is it?”
“Look who’s back in town!” He laughed. Viktor took two easy strides holding his arms out and pulled Jeane in a tight embrace.
When he let go, he had the brightest grin on his face that could’ve lighted up the entire city after dark. “Thought you eloped somewhere with Flik for a second, haha! Everybody was upset when they heard they weren’t invited to the wedding.”
Flik left with a letter saying that he was off travelling and Viktor knew that he could take care of himself just fine. When Jeane was coming back, he was hoping that his best friend would be with her - ah, well you can’t be too greedy with wishing he supposed.

And then we vanish into the shadows of history, nary a mark on the page of a book to remind the world that once we existed at all.
Just how long would Sierra linger here before her travels began anew? Hm, probably once the celebration ended, get her fill of life’s pleasures before continuing her 400 year chase. …had it really been that long? How time flies.
She turned her head when Viktor’s voice reached her ears; then came her thoughts of what he would do given his circumstances, perhaps he had the same plans to chase that vampire down as she did, or just to continue on with his life after this war. Sierra smiled in kind though, turning to face the man before replying.
“Hm, I only wanted to wait for the bustle to die down, it’s far too loud inside for me to think. But what brings you out here? I should think you would be inside drinking to your hearts content at a time such as this.”
He laughed. “Heh - just thought it was too nice of a night to spend inside. Gotta appreciate the nice weather while you can, yeah?” And it wasn’t a complete lie. Although Viktor found himself enjoying the day rather than the night, the stars and the white moon was very calming.
It was a bit out of character he admitted and on any other day he would be doing what Sierra said, but sometimes - his worries like to come back at the worst of times.
“Not too bad though, at least we have each other right?” Viktor grinned. “C’mon, sit down and take a sip. It’s from Kanakan, the real good stuff.”

And then we vanish into the shadows of history, nary a mark on the page of a book to remind the world that once we existed at all.
The war was almost over. And yet, he found himself strangely empty.
Viktor excused himself from the party with a happy smile (”Heh, I’ll be back in a few!”) and disappeared out the door with a wine bottle in hand. A hollow soul can be filled up with liquor quick enough. As much as he loves parties (which is a lot of love), tonight: he just wasn’t up for it.
Where would he go after the war? Travelling seemed the only likely option. Things never grow stale when you’re always out and about - but Neclord. How long will it be until he finds him again? Would he die before he’d even seek his revenge? No...if he doesn’t kill him now, nobody can. And all those villages he’d destroy...all those children...
He needs a drink, he thought to himself and began to chug down the red liquid. Viktor let out a sigh and set down the bottle. Today wasn’t the night to think of dead children. Or any other night for that matter.
He glanced around him and smiled. “Oi, Sierra - how long do you plan on standin’ there by yourself?”
