Finished at last! I’m honestly not too dissatisfied with this! Is it a perfect painting? No, not in the slightest. However, it is only my second oil painting and I definitely learned a lot. Maybe I didn’t do myself any favors by painting on scrap plywood, either. Anyway, this is one of my favorite scenes from fiddler and I had a lot of fun trying to capture it.

Okay final update for awhile… I’m about leave for about 4-5 months and can’t take this work with me :( but I feel pretty good about where I’m leaving it… faces are mainly done (is anything ever really “done” in art?) and I think I finally know how to fix Tzeitel’s eye, it just doesn’t look focused…

I haven’t done any hair or clothing detail cause I’m kind of scared it. Hopefully when I return I’ll be ready to take it on
