Kanye Cameo
Rappers have been making cameos in other rapper's videos since the beginning of time. This is no new phenomenon, what may be new to some of you is the amount of Pre Yeezy cameos there are.
Think back if you can to a simpler time where Kanye wore polo shirts (even then it was Ralph Sway) with the collar popped up accompanied by a back pack. Think late 2003 early 2004, College Dropout was on the verge of changing the rap game and Kanye was on the verge of getting his face seen in everyone's video.
The following is a brief history of Kanye cameos.
Izzo (H.O.V.A) - Jay Z
Probably the song that changed Kanye's life for ever. Getting one beat on Hova got him off that cheap ass sofa. Here Kanye gets all in the video for a brief cameo to let the world know his time is coming.
Get By - Talib Kweli
After landing that beat on Hova Kanye became the hot producer. Everyone clamored for that new sound. Here is Kanye getting his Diddy on in Talib's video. If you don't want your producer all up in the video, come to Death Row.
Can't Stop, Won't Stop - Young Gunz
At this point you couldn't stop, nor wouldn't stop Kanye. The Dame Dash cameo in the background is just for added flavor. Dame is surely thinking we can throw Cam on every song and save the album if he's whack.
Get 'Em Girls - Cam'Ron
Dipset, Dipset, Dipset, Dipset!!! Just in case Ye needed Killa to save his album he decides to show face in the crowd while Cam and the set rap on a roof.
Stand Up - Ludacris
Before these two made you breathe in and breathe out Kanye showed Luda he was a stand up guy. In return, Luda let Kanye have a story to tell all of his Chi Town buddies.
Get No Better - Cassidy
Dropout bear tee. The first of many Yeezy Seasons began. What many of us wouldn't do to have hold of a College Dropout tee shirt. Swizzy in the back letting you suckas know what time it is.
I say all of that to say this. Never let anyone stop you from grinding. As So Help Me God looms in the air it is important for us to take a look back in history. We must realize that Ye was not always Yeezus, even he had to start somewhere.
Even if that somewhere meant asking everyone what day they were shooting for their single, he stuck it out and made a success of himself. For all of you out there in the cameo stage in life, whether you are a nurses assistant working to be a doctor or a McDonalds employee working your way up to manager. Never stop working and believe there is a little bit of Kanye in all of us.
