On & On
My current vibe at work.
How can we accept that we ourselves are responsible for replaying our old scenarios, for producing, on our life stage as well as in our internal theaters, old anguishes in a new disguise, old failures in a new field? Or that we are instrumental in resuscitating the drab drama of depression, when we have already learned that it is up to us to give meaning to our own lives, that we alone are responsible for severing the bonds that prevent life from being a creative adventure? The fact that the stage—its lighting and its backdrops as well as its characters—may change when old productions once more go into rehearsal allows us to regard these apparently new psychic creations as the result of circumstances. Human beings do not want to recognize that there is within them a driving force toward antilife, equal and sometimes stronger than its counterpart, the conscious desire for a happy existence and the wish to triumph over adversity.
