as you help him find a recipe for dinner, you’re skimming amongst the many, many recipes they hold. when you mumble french aloud, sanji’s eyes shoot up from his book and up at you. from your sitting position on the counter, you continue reading the directions in his native language as sanji’s heartbeat accelerates. one second he’s reading his book and the next he’s all over you, peppering your face with kisses. you’re confused, but you just roll with it.

zoro thinks it’s hot...

after you do a double take when he curses in japanese under his breath. he looks at you like “what?” when you explain that you knew what he said, he seems a little confused and doesn’t believe you, at first. he’ll test you, saying more things and asking you to repeat them, and when you can he bites his tongue. zoro tries to get you to repeat things that you’re a bit too sheepish to say aloud but decides to let his actions speak louder than words.

luffy is excited...

when you had been reading the morning’s paper and the words just slipped from your mouth. luffy’s mouth forms a little ‘o’ shape when he overhears what you had been saying, mostly because he recognized the language. both his eyes and smile grow wide as he hurdles himself over to you and wraps his arms around you. he’ll ask you to speak again, aloud for him to hear and he’ll giggle when he responds back in fluent portuguese.

Claude gives Byleth a nice long pep talk in front of Judith and Lorenz of all people, about how she deserves to be the leader of the Church and is very much allowed to use that position to make the change they both want to see

And he's absolutely sincere too, which you can spot pretty easily these days since he's talking to Byleth and he's always sincere when talking to Byleth

He's long given up on tricking her or attempting to use her against her will, he knows full well she'd just refuse him if she didn't want to go along with his schemes

No, he's not just buttering her up when he says she's special, he honestly means it and he's comfortable enough with his administration for her to let these two people, who wouldn't let a single opportunity pass them by to tease or criticize him, see the whole depth of it

He really just wants her to be more confident in herself for herself - not for his own goals since she's basically already done everything she could by helping him convince the Alliance lords to lend their aid - but because he hates seeing her doubt herself when he knows she deserves everything she has

Claude knows Byleth can achieve her own goals and dreams now that she has this position and is urging her to do just that
