“Ah… I’m sorry, did you hear that?” Brian said with a small cough. That wasn’t exactly his proudest moment, but he had spent a lot on this trimmer! It couldn’t have broken after one use! 

“I just wanted to get the hedges straightened out but… This damn trimmer.”

The goth stared at him for a moment before letting out a soft laugh. “Ah…I see…That makes much more sense.” He said, trying not to laugh any harder. It was a bit of a silly display, one he had defiantly been caught performing himself by his son a number of times. “Is there any chance I might be able to help?”

“That depends, do you know how to use the new trim-master five thousand?” Brian said, only slightly bragging at the fact that he had this new trimmer. He wanted the sides of his lawn to run absolutely adjacent to the flower bushes he'd recently planted.

“Maxwell, come on boy!” Brian shouted towards the corgi who had excited run over to the new dad at the barbecue, then promptly making his way over to him, tugging the excitable corgi off.

“Well, Maxwell seems to like you!”

“Hey there, you're new to the cul-de-sac, right?” Brian said with a grin before he held his hand out to him. “Is that your daughter? My Daisy seems pretty fond of her!”

Brian took in a deep breath, knocking on Robert’s door, giving him a bright smile the moment he came face to face with the other dad.

“Hey there Robert, funny story...” he started awkwardly, then scratching his beard. “My Maxwell is fond of your Boston Terrier and... Well I'll be darned, he's got into uour back garden for a play.”

Joseph smiled at the compliment as he pressed the spatula lightly against a burger. “No, no pink burgers here. That’s not food safe, you can’t grill hamburger meat and ground beef the way you do a steak.”

“Well sure you can't when feeding burgers to kids,” Brian said before he scratched his beard, then letting out a belly laugh. “Suppose my belly is just stronger than yours!”
