Imagine Morty, if he ever has his own kid, trying to break the cycle of abuse and neglect, but ending up as the extreme opposite... My headcanon: Morty would be obsessed with structure.

Since He grew up with so much chaos and neglect, he would map out his kid's entire life on calendars and sticky notes. Attends to every school meeting. Make sure his kid goes to school.

God, Imagine He would force them into every social circle, making sure they won't end up like him, and has actual friends their ages and not have a 70 year old man as your only friend! *cough* Rick.

While driving them crazy in the process. Hmm yeah Morty would be an emotionally unstable parent trying to heal his own childhood trauma by turning into a super helicopter parent lol. The poor boy is trying NOT to be Jerry, Beth, or RICK, only to end up creating a whole new toxic dynamic.

And the cycle keeps going…

Or, another scenario, he turns out like Doofenschmirtz from Phineas and Ferb. That would be hilarious and sad xD

I want to write a fic where Morty has issues as an adult, and went no contact with Rick and his family and even moved to a different continent, but my writing skills say no

I want to draw something related to this, but I'm already on the verge of artblock, so unless I want another artblock for the next 5 years, I'd better rest 🥲

i think ppl would be a lot happier and better-adjusted on here if they realized that being online on a website is like being in any other casual public space full of people. if u walk into walmart u dont immediately think to yourself “i have to be friends with everyone in this walmart and if not everyone likes me i’m a failure” and u really shouldn’t feel that way online either. likewise if there’s a guy in the walmart parking lot shouting obscenities u probably wouldn’t answer him and that’s literally an exact equivalent to some of the weird stuff that people on here seem to feel they’re obligated to respond to.

Having your interests mocked as a kid and general low self esteem will have you insulting the things you like even when they're generally considered very good. Because you like it, and historically when you like something it's stupid and not worth anyone's time. So you will say nonsense like "I recommend this book/game/film, but it's okay if you hate it, it sucks, I really enjoyed it but that's because I'm an idiot" and you are recommending them the Citizen fucking Kane of that particular media type. And importantly: you need to stop doing this it is killing you

I'm not saying that Morty is 100% Innocent (he's not) but when I look at him I see a traumatized young boy. And if I had to be Honest??? I would do 3 times worse things than him if I were put in his situations. Sorry but if I was told many times that's I'm worthless, I would see what happened to my other versions in the citadel (and what their purpose is), had family like that, was often put in situations where I was close to death, had to watch others die, have no friends my own age, been groomed a few times and have persistently deleted memory ALL AT AGE 14.
