I always seem to find myself comparing Alfred to Tamaki Suoh from Ouran Highschool Host Club. Maybe it's the blonde hair. Maybe it's the dramatic flair. Maybe it's because they both are pretty ignorant of those who aren't as fortunate, but blindly rush in to try and fix things they don't even understand yet.

You could be better-
Alfred pauses, blinking at the criticism(???) he hadn't expected. Or well he had, but not really from Japan. He sits there with a very confused smile for like thirty seconds before going to rub the back of his neck awkwardly. "R-Really? You're right to have so much faith in me! Alright, I'm going to be even better than the best!!" he thrusts an intense fist pump into the air for emphasis. "So hey Japan, you write poetry too sometimes right?"

Y’know, I was thinking of getting some of my work published. Then I could live like your fat old European guys except I’d be the hip version! Hell-hole? Whaddya mean?
So you’d be a hip, fat, American poet? Well, I’m not one to tell you what to do, but it’s harder to do poetry than what you may think.
It’s either hot as hell, or rainy and cold, and I have to deal with ten kittens that were given to me. And I have work to do. That’s what I mean.
H-Hey I wouldn't be fat!! What is WITH you people, seriously? I take great care of myself! [says this as he downs a sugary energy drink whut] Did you say kittens? I could take some off of your hands if you want. I've got plenty of space.
so I keep thinking of Puritan!America and how all the stories of witches and demons would scare the crap out of him and then Jonathan Edwards would come and preach 'Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God' and that would just seal the deal forever. He'd hate to go camping alone or without some kind of weird gadget he thought could protect him.

O-Oh, you meant being picked up? You gotta watch how you put some things, Pete. *proceeds to scoop him up, toss him high and haphazardly into the air but catch him like a boss* You have to make plane noises if you’re really a plane!!
[and up he goes! Peter cackles happily as he flies up in the air, only to be caught at the very last second. He beams up at the other]
Mister Alfred, you throw me up really high! I didn’t spect to go that far, but I really like it! I really do!
[and he pauses, before pushing up his lips]
Shrooooooom!
[is that what sort of noise an airplane makes?]
Course I did. Planes have to go high or they'll crash! [makes comedic crashing noises to dampen the seriousness of the actual event] ZOOM ZOOOOOOOM [he's really getting into it, lifting Peter over his head and making pew pew noises as though he's some ship from Star Wars, no longer a plane] Watch out, the Empire is going to get you we have to fly away and plan another strategy...! [runs away with Peter still suspended over his head]

Been there a few times, y-yeah! *mostly during the war as well as diplomatic and humanitarian events whut* I've made a point to go all over the place. Can't make your nation the best with nothing to go off of! Huh! Those places are kind of depressing sometimes but the food's great! Why'd you go there?
