The Air Jordan 1 Royal Blue, and the Black and Red or the banned as it's known now. One of my top 10 sneakers of all time. Truly a trend setter, designed by Peter Moore this was before the infamous Tinker era. This shoe started it all, NBA commissioner at the time David Stern outlawed them. (actually this is myth, the Nike Air Ship was actually the shoe they outlawed due to the lack of white on the shoe). Saying it didn't confirm to the NBA dress code. He then proceeded to fine the bulls and Jordan $5000 per game worn. This would add up to $430,000 compared to Jordan's salary of $630,000. Nike was eager to pay it using it in campaigns saying that it gave Michael a unfair advantage. In all actuality it skyrocketed the hype on the shoe and it became the first shoe to sell out and cause violence, seeing how they couldn't keep up with the demand. It was originally put into a few different styles. The Jordan high, the KO, and the mid and the low. Still one of the most demanded and revered silhouettes of all time.
