FYI I am a spoiler. Beware.
Ok so KinGin, the author of Pearl Boy: Ignite the Dawn, recent said she plans on having no season hiatus. A lot of people have come to the conclusion that IGD will be only one season. If that ends up being the case, I’d be pretty disappointed. Mostly bc I think both Yuta and Seunghyun are pretty complex characters (Yuta more so) and their history is also very complex. I just feel like IGD has the potential to be a much more fleshed out story. I’m not tryna be a greedy/entitled reader, I know a lot of effort and time gets put into making these manhwa’s. But I’m just so attached to seungyu, and their story, plus I love KinGins works. I’ve been looking forward to seeing more of them. KinGin also recently posted a pic on IG that said “sHame skin.” People are speculating whether it’s a spin off manhwa of the Koh twins. I kinda sorta hope not bc the twins aren’t my cup of tea and also bc I don’t want the ending of IGD to be rushed/unsatisfactory. Ughhhh anyways im gonna regardless enjoy the rest of IGD as much as I can. These are just my thoughts. I’m hope IGD at least reached 50-60 chapters.
Ok so it’s been established in chapter 35 of ITD that Seunghyun is currently 36 years old. He was separated from Yuta 10 years ago, so that means he was 26 the last time he saw Yuta. I’m estimating that Yuta is currently 28 years old which means he was about 18 years old when he was taken to the Golden Pavilion (honestly so heartbreaking, he was a kid) and met Seunghyun. So 8 year age gap.
I’m so fucked yo after watched BTS’s Netflix live comeback trailer. It made me so emotional. I’m not ready. I’m gonna be a mess on the 20th.
Ignite the Dawn chapter 35: ahh man idek know what to think anymore. Every single chapter is is surprise and nothing like I think it might be. That’s what I love about KinGins stories tbh. So for the recap/thoughts: the chapter starts directly after Seunghyun’s face is beaten by Yuta, and they have sex. After post nut clarity (lol) Yuta seems to come to his senses and takes in the scene before him and what he’s done to Seunghyun’s face. Seunghyun tells Yuta he wants to see more of Yuta feeling pleasure. Yuta ends uthe having a panic attack after realizing what’s he’s done and over the fact that Seunghyun might be able to see right through him. He ends up getting a nosebleed and passes out while Seunghyun holds him and tries to calm him down. I’m still confused on when either of them are putting on an act. But that’s what I love about this story they’re both (more so Yuta) so unpredictable. I love how complex Yuta’s character is. As far as Yuta beating Seunghyun, someone on Twitter said it perfectly: He (Seunghyun) was a yakuza, they live on an eye for an eye, if Seunghyun himself didn't think he deserved it he wouldn't have let it happen. He was not handcuffed or tied up, he could have easily overpowered Yuta. In fact he probably thought he deserved more than what he got. Later we see Yuta’s brain scan, and yall it’s bad as you can see, the fragments are so small, the surgery is definitely gonna be super risky. Seunghyun’s seem later all bandaged up in deep thought about his life and asks himself what the hell he’s been doing for 36 years(we finally know his age!) he also made sure not to smoke near Yuta, after learning about his injury/illness, which I found sooooo endearing! Later Seunghyun makes Yuta breakfast in bed and tells a regretful Yuta that the best medicine for his injuries are his kisses. Yuta was so flustered lmao. Loved that. Anyways I have more to say in an another post. See yall!
Hi, Baby Army here 👋🏽 I’m legit so nervous and excited for the album and everything related to the comeback. I’m afraid I’m gonna be overwhelmed with the amount of stuff to keep up with omg bc I’m already loosing my mind over the tracklist and the Netflix performance coming up.
THIS. THIS IS WANT IM SAYING YALL.
Just a reminder from Mother Mingwa herself, when the frustration from Jinx’s plot progression gets to you lmao. Yes there will be angst, miscommunication(or none at all), and constant 2 steps forward 10 steps back, it’s a SLOW BURN✨
Ahh Jinx chapter 93!!!! AHHHHH. So it’s started off with Dan waking up and THEYRE SPOONING. And Jae is holding on to Dan like a vice fr not wanting to let him go. We spend the beginning of the chapter in Dan’s POV. He seems to be experiencing post nut clarity lmao. He questions himself about why he got carried away the night before with Jaekyung. Basically, as stated in Dan’s mind, his heart melted at the sight of Jae so distraught. But poor Daniella was so embarrassed for taking control and riding that horse lmao. Dan thinks to himself that the sex was so good it was almost scary, and until recently he didn’t realize how good it can actually be, how it can make you feel so safe and warm. This made me so sad bc as you know Dan felt a lot of shame surrounding sex and his own please and spent a lot of his adult life basically not feeling safe and warm. That fact that he feels this way with Jae says a lot. Dan questions why Jae is being so nice and caring towards him so suddenly and concludes that he just simply feels guilty about the way he’s treated a lot with the revelations of Dans past. Dan remind himself that this is just his job and he is only there for Jae’s jinx, and Jae will do anything to ensure his victory. He remind himself that he’s leaving after Jae’s next match. Jaekyung frantically runs into the kitchen thinking Dan’s left again, and asks why Dan did wake him up before he got out of bed. Dan is very dismissive. Jae says Dan doesn’t need to cook for him anymore and to sleep him(with him) and take better care of himself. Dan asks him to stop doing so much for him and worrying about him, and says Jae is only doing this out of guilt. Jae is appalled and Dan walks away. GO DANNY. I need more groveling from Jaekyung. I’m glad Dan is not letting him off the hook so easily. Jaekyung sits alone in his feelings of both guilt and affection towards Dan and asked himself what exactly he’s feeling. Baby you’re in love lol. Also can we appreciate their size difference in those panels omg it’s so delicious. Anyways we jump to a scene with Baek Junmin, his manager, the loan sharks that were after Dan, and the ugly hospital director/Doctor. That’s right all the villains in one room together. The evil Doc is apparently in deep debt to Junmin and his goons. (Didn’t include any panels of them bc I can’t stand to look at them lol) The Doctor then agrees to help Junmin (they didn’t say exactly with what yet, although I think we all know where it’s going) in exchange for his life. I’m afraid the Dan kidnapping/getting hurt arc is about to commence. They wanna go after Jae’s weakness. Jaekyung is about to find out the hard and nasty way just how he feels about Dan. It feels like we’re constantly taking 2 steps forward with this story and then 20 steps back. Well, this is a slow burn after all, according to mother Mingwa. Honestly tho it’s all more realistic this way. Dans been so deeply hurt, he not gonna open up so easily. As for Jae, this all is just so new to him. It will take time for him to make sense of his feelings. He’s never let himself be vulnerable in this way. He's never admitted to caring about anyone and having the slightest affections for another being. I’m scared for 94 y’all 😭
The Thread never burned
69ing?
Jaekyung telling Dan to use him however he wants and asking him what he wants to do?
Dan riding Jaekyung like the wind?
Jaekyung squirting?!
THIS CHAPTER WAS EVERYTHING!!!
Ignite the Dawn chapter 34: Each chapter of ITD never fails to be unexpected and shocking. I literally cannot predict anything. I was hoping it was gonna be a fluffy start but it started off extremely dark, graphic and horrific. Which is to be expected given the nature of the story and from what we already know from Pearl Boy. KinGin is not afraid to show these graphic images, but let me remind you she is not glorifying these horrific acts, she’s actively showing y’all how it can break a person and how to ppl in power barely get reprehended. It’s meant to make us uncomfortable. The beginning of the chapter starts with a flashback of Yuta in the Golden Pavilion in his regular civilian clothes along with all the other boys at the golden pavilion all getting SAed by a bunch of Yakuzas. I’m not sure if this when Yuta first arrived to the golden pavilion or if it was after Yuta spent the day learning Korean with Seunghyun. We flash back to the present and Seunghyun is being extremely soft and gentle to Yuta. Mind you this is after their bullet convo and Seunghyun saying he feels responsible for Yuta. Seunghyun’s sudden “kindness and understanding” seems to have deeply trigged Yuta. Which I understand, what could Seunghyun possibly understand about the physical, emotional, and psychological abuse and trauma he went through, when he was in a position of power over ppl like Yuta. Seunghyun is drying Yuta with towel all softly when Yuta looks down and sees Seunghyun is aroused. This is when all hell breaks loose and Yuta called him a disgusting bastard and starts beating the fuck out of Seunghyun’s face. Seunghyun just lets him and does nothing to stop him, probably bc he knows Yuta needs to get his rage out and also bc he deserves it. Yuta tells him that he’s no different from the filthy beasts he’s always looked down on(the yakuzas that frequented the golden pavilion) and that he’s exactly the same as them. Honestly I’m glad Yuta reacted the way he did, Seunghyun def needed some sense beaten into him and poor Yuta needed to get all that rage out. Yuta has suffered sooo much idk how’s he’s gonna overcome his trauma in this story, also idek how Seunghyun could possibly redeem himself to Yuta. Idek how this story is gonna have a happy ending. I feel guilty for even rooting for Seunghyun in the previous chapters. So Yuta has def been putting on an act in the last chapters, from what I can see rn he gonna see how far he can push Seunghyun too till he snaps. But I think Seunghyun is exactly where he wants to be, he’s in it for the long haul at this point. Also I wanna point out that a few chapters ago Yuta freaked out when Seunghyun got hurt from the glass mirror, yet didn’t hesitate to almost castrate himself. So this chapter when Yuta is repeatedly punching, kicking and choking Seunghyun, isnt that a form of self harm for him? Since he hates seeing him hurt? Idk. They suddenly start going at it, and Seunghyun suddenly starts licking Yuta’s fingers after literally getting the daylights knocked out of him. I think that just solidifies that Seunghyun is not giving up on Yuta. Anyways I wanna talk about the art quality of ITD. I can’t help but notice it changing and the chapters getting shorter. This is no hate, I still think the art is beautiful but I kinda miss the original design. I can kinda tell that KinGin is burnt out, so I’m hoping the season ends soon, or that she goes on hiatus for a few months so she can get some much needed rest. Nonetheless I’m am fully invested in the story, the art, and the characters. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
Yall new animated Mignon side stories are coming soon!!!! It’s gonna be 11 minutes long! SCREAMING 😫😫😭
