Kate was already not a big fan of this woman. “Bishop.” She corrected quickly. “Kate Bishop.” Clint was great, but she would always be a Bishop. “I’m 25.” She said, having to correct the woman and her assumptions again. “I am the real Hawkeye. Anything Clint can do, I can do. in heels.” That had been proven. “Who are you, anyway? Would he even be calling you back.” She didn’t recognize the woman, and she didn’t blame Clint for not calling her back.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 arched her brow, amused. ❝ Touchy, ❞ she said pressing her folded arms against her chest. Twenty-five uh? The girl looked YOUNGER than that but Melissa didn’t press the age issue, she wasn’t that MUCH of a bitch (well at least not today.) ❝ Listen no offence I’m not here to diss your archery skills, so I’ll rephrase this is a Clint Barton sort of issue. ❞ Melissa and Clint had never GOTTEN along but they understood each other - family was important, people they LOVED like family were important. ❝ We worked together, ❞ Melissa said simply, leaving out their coloured past, she didn’t think the girl needed to know that. ❝ Look, ❞ she tried finally, ❝ text.. or call Clint and tell him Melissa Gold is looking for him, my number’s change since the last time we spoke. ❞ Because Clint wasn’t stupid enough to ignore her, not when he knew what she was capable of.
Kara giggled, “you just have to know what to order here and what to not.” She was holding two cups of coffee from the shop down the street and she handed one to the woman. “This place makes fantastic muffins but their coffee is burnt. It’s why I get my coffee before I come and get my breakfast here and eat outside.” Shaking her head, Kara motioned towards the table a few feet away. “You can join me if you like. I never finish both muffins anyway. Maybe I can help you know where to get coffee and not get it. As you know here might be the worst in Manhattan.”
𝐒𝐇𝐄 nodded, ❝ thanks for the tip, ❞ she replied, the taste of unsweetened coffee making her cringe. Melissa took the cup of coffee handed to her by the blonde, giving the young woman a friendly smile. Usually the brunette would have made up an excuse to flee, but SOMETHING in the far corners of her mind told her she should stay and talk to her new acquaintance. ❝ Sure I don’t have anywhere else to be, ❞ she agreed, taking a seat at the table. Melissa proceeded to place her handbag down by her feet. ❝ I’m Melissa by the way, ❞ she introduced, taking a sip of her gifted coffee. She hummed in delight, ❝ you my girl, know how to ORDER coffee. Seriously this is good shit, you’ve restored my faith in this place. ❞

𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐀 ignored the stares of men as she walked into the night club. Usually she wasn’t one to LET men stares; but the woman had been wound TOO tight as of late and needed to let her hair down. It’s why she had decided to heed a friend’s recommendation and check the place out. Melissa hated to admit it, but she tended to be a creature of habit, she had her places; tried and tested and she didn’t STRAY too far from them- if EVER. However, the woman felt like being spontaneous, something she used to be often in her youth. The brunette walked over to the bar, eyeing the blonde behind it.
❝ Could I get a drink? ❞ she shouted over the music playing in the background. Melissa tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, whipping out her phone and placing it on the bar top. She would NEVER be able to hear it above the music and despite the fact that she was trying to unwind, she wouldn’t be able to relax if she wasn’t easily reachable in case one of her team mates NEEDED her. ❝ Gin and tonic, ❞ she tacked on, giving her a soft smile.

yes I do. i use this site to get screencaps and i got the icon border template from here, the colouring is my own and i obviously make each individual icon which is why they are watermarked. if you have any other questions feel free to ask. all the graphics on my site are made by me & use my own colouring.

Melissa then turned to the person beside her, who happened to be a young blonde ❝ be careful honey, this place is clearly trying to poison people. ❞ There was a FAMILIARITY to the young woman that she couldn’t quite put her figure on. ❝ So much for the good Yelp rating. ❞

𝐒𝐇𝐄 arched her eyebrow at the bow and arrow, ❝ baby Barton I presume? ❞ she inquired leaning back against the wall amused. ❝ I knew Barton had taken SOMEONE under his wing but I didn’t realise you were so young... it’s SWEET. ❞ Melissa looked down at her manicured nails for a moment, before nonchalantly looking up at the girl. ❝ Where’s the REAL Hawkeye? I’ve been trying to call him but he hasn’t been returning any of my phone calls which is RUDE considering... ❞ she let the sentence trail off, a smirk playing on her lips.
The pistol in her hands feels cold against her fingertips despite the warmth illuminating from the embers in the fireplace just feet away from her. Her mission was to eliminate the infamous Songbird. Yelena knew of her reputation, but she did not understand the velocity of how powerful she truly was. She had no idea what she was walking into. She couldn’t even step foot in the building without drawing attention. For the former black widow, this was disappointing, usually Yelena was amazing at being quiet. She was quick on her feet and consumed herself within the shadows, but she couldn’t get past her. A scowl forms on her countenance as she slowly lowers her weapon to its holster at her side. As if she was walking on glass, she saunters toward the sofa and sits down on the edge of the cushion, ready to pounce if need be. Caramels focus intently on the woman prowling before her before she too takes a seat. “Thunder-what?” Yelena retorts.
The woman revealed that she liked her jacket and even more confusion swept across her face, her eyes resembling a deer in the headlights of an incoming vehicle, but her cockiness was the epitome of her being at this moment — she was far too excited about someone liking her jacket to notice. “Isn’t it great? You can stuff anything in these pockets. There is so much room –” A pause, realization setting in. “I appreciate the compliment but I came here to kill you – was… WAS here to kill you. You’ve pissed off a lot of people and they all want you dead, does that not worry you?”
𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐀 smirked, nodding along as the young woman went on about pockets, she had always been GOOD at making others at ease. The woman shrugged at the second part of the assassins sentence; it was no SURPRISE to her that people would want her dead - so typical, people see a powerful woman and want one of two things: to KILL her or USE her. ❝ No, ❞ she replies as a matter of fact. ❝ I find that you make a lot of enemies when you refuse to bow down and treat those in charge as GODS but I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❞ Melissa stepped closer to the blonde. ❝ From where I’m standing; you could TRY and kill me, and maybe you’ll succeed or maybe you’ll LOOSE or, and I’m I may be biased here. You could let me show you another way... stick a middle finger to that BORE Valentina and not let her use you. ❞
❝ ThunderBOLTS, ❞ she corrected. ❝ It’s kinda of like the Avengers only MORE fun, ❞ she explained. Melissa remembered being at the beginning of it all; when she’d first received her gift. The power she held in her hands, it made her feel UNSTOPPABLE. There wasn’t anything she could conquer. ❝ What do you say YELENA? ❞ she asked, indicating to the young woman that she too knew who the other was. ❝ Ready to take destiny into your own hands? ❞ Maybe she was laying it on a bit thick, but something told Melissa that the blonde enjoyed a bit of theatrics as much as she did.
