It’s a curse.
An even bigger problem is that most people who believe they have it, don't.
Behind the phrase Common Sense are a host of ideas and self- reflective views of the world. At the base of this seemingly innocuous duo of words are ideas of reasoning, justice, norms (both beneficial and prejudiced), beliefs, and judgement.
All of these can be placed in Value Systems, which has been defined as a weighted chart of basic human values. How we see others' behaviors and our intentions in that chart of values is largely how we define Common Sense. Until we understand and reflect on our own values, biases, judgements, and application of justice - the understanding of Common Sense will always elude us.
The beginning of Common Sense is to always question yourself first, to see both action and intent in either yourself or others. If one does not start there, they are merely being a biased and judgemental Karen who might get lucky and have a popular Value sometimes, but they are always destructive to positive social functioning of those around them.
