Y’all act like Steve forced himself onto Peggy when he went back. Have y’all ever considered that she could have said no if she really moved on? If you’re such big Steve Stans you’d know that he probably told her everything that happened and gave her the option to continue with her life or stay with him. Have y’all ever considered the fact that even though Peggy tried to move on if she was given the chance to be with Steve again she would have taken it? No? Start considering it. This was a two person decision, not just Steve’s.

Can’t believe people really were surprised Steve went back to Peggy. It was obvious since the beginning, especially with all those moments where she was mentioned. And now people are surprised and mad? Don’t be dense, it was obviously the plan since the beginning. Be happy for him he got what he always wanted. Even Chris Evans has said if Steve could go back in time to Peggy he would.

“going back to peggy if he could” is a nice sentiment, in theory but it undoes so much…either Steve erased people from existence (peggys children with her husband) or kissed his niece. Not to mention Bucky is tortured and turned into a winter soldier while Steve now knows about it and..does nothing, because it would change history too much! Then there’s Agent Carter, where a big part of the plot is Peggy and Howard letting go of Steve, so that’s null now.

The past hasn’t been changed. What we’ve seen in the films is still canon. This is just an alternative timeline that was created, it’s been confirmed he time jumped as old Steve back into the regular timeline to see Sam and Bucky. He still saves Bucky.

It creates an alternative timeline? Even if it’s alternative time line, it doesn’t change the fact that now Steve knows Bucky was tortured and turned into winter soldier and does nothing about it. This is why you shouldn’t have time travel characters can control, then nothing’s a threat and tragedy can’t happen, if characters can’t stop it, they can just re-try and if they don’t try, they feel like jerks.

How do you know he does nothing about it? In the original timeline he tried. In this alternative timeline he probably does as well. OR he probably doesn’t have to. Knowing how the future turns out for a lot of things, he has an advantage and Bucky might not even get captured. Steve might stop all of that too. Why are we assuming he didn’t? He probably stopped all these horrible events from happening in the alternative timeline and was still able to live a long happy life with Peggy. Honestly I know they were best friends but Bucky doesn’t need Steve to hold his hand forever. Steve tried his best to move on but obviously he couldn’t and that’s okay. He deserved to go back in time and enjoy a new life after all the times he was selfless. If anything it’s selfish of the fans and Bucky to hold Steve back knowing what makes him happy. Yeah their goodbye might not have been the ideal goodbye but hopefully there’s at least a deleted scene that shows us more.
