Cosplay Mania 2017, Day 2! Oh man it took about 3 hours to get inside the convention center. Despite the long wait and the massive crowd, we all had fun! Plus, it was the first con my friend (Red Riding Hood), my cousin, and his gf ever attended, so it was definitely an experience for them. It was also my first time to make matching costumes for myself and my brother, all within 1 month! Got separated from him though so we didn't get much pictures together :c But! We found Ash and he was a good sport! Highlight of the day though was getting a picture with the Animax mascots - they were super adorable and playful! Also, the cosplayers were amazing as always. Looking forward to an even better CosMania next year :)

I’ve re-done my commission page with new examples and prices!

I’d like to give a brief explanation behind the “starting at” price. I try to work at a ten dollars an hour rate. So these prices are an approximation of that rate. However, more detailed requests, or difficult items will take more time. Thus, those items will cost more.

Some examples include:

Adding an additional character doubles the price

Backgrounds will add a bit.

Dramatic poses or angles will take more time.

Intricate details such as wings or armor will take more time.

Porn is quite difficult and will add an additional fee, including the double the rate per character.

I will need half of the price paid upfront, and then the other half once I am finished. Not only does this protect me from being cheated, it also allows us to calculate a price for the finished product. I may complete the product faster than expected and you could get a lower price than originally quoted!!

one of the most amazing things that has been said to me in therapy is that self esteem doesn’t exist.

and that floored people and the psych went onto say that what she meant was that self esteem is a concept that actually includes a vast array of things and labelling them all as one thing is really limiting and prevents actual improvement

you could have real strong pride in the things you create and hate your body

you could hate your creations but also want to share them with people

you could not hate yourself at all but not take care of yourself, engage in reckless self endangerment

thats all bundled under ‘self esteem’ but saying ‘i need better self esteem’ doesn’t mean anything

whereas if you say ‘i need to work on ways to keeping myself safe, refusing to act on destructive urges’ or ‘i want to be in a place where i believe compliments trusted people give me’

thats concrete, thats a goal.

having it said in therapy helped a lot of people in my group stop saying ‘i have low self esteem’ and start specifying about the actual issue they have

Hello, everyone! I’d like to try doing commissions and get a new pen tablet :)
